make sure you have suffient coolant and % for the upcoming cold weather

check tyres / pressures

top up screen wash

check wipers

get your scrapers and de icer out of the shed

remember to not hit the down button on the windows whe frozen - the plastic clips don't like it

feel free to add any other things worth doing pre snow / freezing weather

snowed over :p (not even joking, mum lost her car for like an hour last year there was that many cars ditched in teh snow hahaha)

Spare car mats

Spade

A few litres of water

De-Icer and scraper

And finally good winter tyres.

That failed last year. needed it to help someone and had a 5l Ice cube.

Yeah kettle is over kill, warm tap water is perfect but use the wipers to make sure its well removed or you risk refreezing before your heaters take effect

i disagree, a kettle is a life saver when your locks freeze up!

but hopefully it wont come to this as you have put some form of grease/lube in there already

I do have a second 5l bottle of 50/50 mix for coolant.

spare set of rubber mats, came in useful last year after getting stuck in a carpark, slipped one under each front wheel and it done the trick

Now let me think. When it snows: Sofa, T.V, and the heating all the way up. Bugger going out!

problem with pouring water over your windscreen is it either freezing back up even worse on your windscreen, or it freezing on the road and causing a crash...
