Well seems asthough mk3 polos only blow warm air through the screen, unless you do some kind of mod which i haven't been able to find a thread for, I've thought about a plug in car heater.

Noticed one in a catalogue at work and they are only a tenner on the bay, anyone used these?

To be honest, Mk1-3 heaters are pretty awesome, way better than you need in a car that size. If it's not warming the car up, there's something wrong with it.

Mk3's only blow warm air when on the windscreen, only cold air comes out of the adjustable vents.

I normally just direct it between half windscreen and half feet, best of both worlds then!

This, the heater in my Mk2 is more than adequate. When you are running the car from cold set the slider to cold and use a lower gear than you might normally (3rd instead of 4th in a 30 zone for example) to heat the engine up quicker - When the needle is passed the first line on the dial crnk the heater up and you're dandy.

With the MK2 centre console in place, the heat is channelled through it and into the rear foot wells. This is useless most of the time, so when i removed my centre console the front foot wells instantly benefitted from more heat. You could channel this air elsewhere of course, using flexi pipe to either channel it into the dash vent ducts or stuff the front passenger and have it all go to the driver's foot well via a simple see-saw flap like some hand dryers have.

For severe weather, if you are the only occupant, a Waeco car seat cover heater run off the cig lighter socket is hard to beat.

It has high and low settings with a thermostat so it can warm you up before engine has warmed up sufficiently to heat the car and keeps you warm on low setting after, good for slow moving traffic. There's an LED light to help remind you to turn it off when leave car.

A pint of hot milk immediately before you set off helps me.

Some choose coffee, but that's a sure fire way to increase your risk of getting road rage, especially if you take sugar..

Fair point, I forgot I never have centre consoles in my mk2s.

Before engine conversion my heater only blew warm on the screen, now I've discovered it blows warm on screen and on feet but i cant get it inbetween

I've just wacked a thermostat in mine and done the heater mod . still dont think its fully rite as i snapped abit off so theres a gap between where air can go :( lol but still now my car actully warms up to temp and gets bloooody roasttingggg :p ... What temps a mk3 run at btw ? bout just below 90 then the fan kicks in ?

20miles and the only way i could get the pin over 70C was set the heater to cold.

Haha yes melts your face .. I had a cup holder what cliped into the blower and it used to keep the drinks warm.. An yeah the thermostat made a big diff. just how long till it goes :( lol

so true also the ford courier has a very good heater, very fast to heat up.
