on my dashboard, in the switches to left of stearing wheel, where the hazard light switch is.

Below the hazard switch is a red switch and I have no idea what it does :p

it is in my 1.9D 6n and it didn't have it in my old 1.4 8v 6n

anyone know what it does?

Might be soemthing to do with an aftermarket alarm, eg panic button?

aha yeh this is what i thought but the car doesn't seem to have an alarm :p

i have pressed it a few times but it seems to do nothing, but it is plugged in to something

ill trace wires back and see where it goes

it was the top left fuse in the fuse box

As its a diesel it could be a switch to trigger the glow plug circuit. I've seen this before, appearantly if the temperature is over say 2• then they won't heat up. So you wire in a switch to over ride the temp sensor and trigger it.
