how much for 4 litres of that mate?

they sell it at around £35 for 5 litres, id rather buy 5 litres anyway as the whole system takes up 4.5 litres from completely empty and then youve got half a litre to top up with if required. i know its a little expensive but as a mechanic i see the result of internal engine wear due to poor oils quite a lot and its quite a false economy.

^^ Fuck that, you want fully synth 5w/40 (semi should be 10w/40) and you can get four litres of SM rated stuff (semi only goes to SL) for less than 25 quid - there's no point getting more than 4 litres because your car only takes 3.6.

I get SM rated fully synth at 5.50 a litre, don't pay for over marketed labels. And don't run semi synth, which is actually a mineral oil. Fully synth will prolong the life of the vvt system over minerals.

indeed its 3.6 litres. I have a 1.4 16v and its of similar architecture to the 1.6 16v gti.
