Hello been on here for a while and thought I would start my build thread on my 1992 gt. I picked this up a few weeks ago and I will hopefully be able to drop my afh in! Most updates will be done on my iPhone so sorry for wack pictures and poor spelling! I have alot of plans for this but I'm sure the cold weather will slow the process

Also been Polishing parts there's going to be alot of this going on! Thinking of spraying the engine bay red as a previouse owner has hand painted it white. The car also has clubpolo stickers on it

My old polo sold to Dom on here and is now breaking

Picked up some wheels last night 7j and 8j 14s just had a fresh refurb but gonna respray them again though to match the colour if the engine bay. The guy was kl had a sweet jetta! He's gonna send over the link to his build thread so I will post it up later pictures to come later to. Et 20 on the back et 28 on the front

Thanks pal the only thing I'm a bit baffled about is putting the mk4 pulley on the mk3 alternator do I need to shave it? And is the fitting the bike carbs but I will worry about that when I get there

on mine i cut the spacer part of it off so its just the main pulley part, then used all the mk2/3 stuff as it was normally. made mine line up perfectly with no clearance issues too. u have to cut a groove in it aswell on the inside of it, ull see when you get there :)

Got a decat straight through exhaust system to go on it stainless steel with with a upswepted tip will get more pics with it on and in better light

check at a scrapyard, always loads of 6n's haha. plus itll fit in your pocket

Scrappy it will have to be then. I need a few other little bits and pieces I got pease pottege near me. Gonna start sanding and smoothing the bay soon buts it's so fricking cold! I dont no how some of you do it!

Put My wheels on today but one rear side is alot lower then the other :-s it wasn't like this before so I checked the suspension and there both the same so I dont no why it's not sitting properly

The fronts are on coilovers but arnt that low so may make some up with mk1 golf coilovers.

Will sort stance once engine is in and I decide what to do with suspension. I'm gonna put coilovers on the rear. May just buy a set of mk1 golf coilovers.The wheels will be changing colour to. Also I was thinking my front coilovers hardly have any drop.check in first picture at the top of the thread there wound all the way down they have one spring in that's long I was thinking to replace for maybe a spring and a helper from the 6n coilovers if it would work :-s

I think over the next few days I'm gonna start preping the engine bay for painting. Clean up engine and gear box / paint and start polishing a few more engine parts and strip the rear and bord it out. Then buy a few more parts and hopefully drop the engine in! Also your only balling once you have a personalised number plate my names jake so a pretty good match thanks to the missis

i saw the polo on ebay i a few weeks ago, almost had my brother go and by it for me as i live in canada at the moe. wanted to get it back to its former glory. I owned that car back in 2006-2008 before any of that white crap paint and all that stupid blue pipe stuff. happy its getting the love it needs if you want any pictures of when i had it i can post/email you some

I was hoping someone would so they use to own it and have pics! The guy who had it was a massive dick almost didnt To buy the car because i hated him so much! There was alot wrong with the car that he didnt tell me but the engine ran good and it was a good shell the blue piping is blue tape!! And the white is a paint brush and paint. I'm hoping to get it back to its former glory loads of plans. Looks good buddy. And yours has changed a little bit... It's now infront the garage waiting to remove and fit its New engine. Iv had to put off the project as Not Only a lead but got a grass tracker too so money's tight. But it will get done ... Eventually. Looks Good tho buddy. Keep up good work.
