Gearbox leak fixed. All ready to be painted up! I have started the engine bay pretty much done all the sanding. The rear is staying black and the sides red. I have smoothed out the hole by the engine mount and cut all the little screw heads that are not needed.

Together as one :-) in gonna give the engine and gearbox a quick spray of black should look good with the red mounts.

etched :-) hopefully spray it soon if the weather holds up and doesnt snow.

Got my engine bay sprayed looks good didnt bother to do the back as its to much hassle to strip and you wont see it anyway.

Hes gone for gti red

to be honest, even though you cant see much of the rear of the bay, spraying the whole lot red would have looked alot better.

done a good jo on it thought other than that, but its just my opinion. if you like it then thats what matters!

Yer def but to be honest if i was gonna spray the back i would of had to of stripped it all and done it 100% and didnt have patience just wanna get the lump in :-) hopefully be putting it in next weekend its all ready need the crane hopfully get it from work s bit to big to fit in my 6n2 :-s did you sell up?

i think it would have been much better to go for some rarest colour on the engine bay or just respray in the same colour as the car is and smoothed and tidy up because looking at at the pictures to me it looks like the car was actually red and has had a black respray on the outside but thats my opinion though.

What makes you think it was already red? The car has always been grey never had a respray. I picked red as seats are going to be red leather, red dish on my maxxs, red engine mounts and bay. I'm open to opinions :-)

nothing until I've saved up enough to g40 it

So i now have the alternator all wired and car now turns over! I cut out the antiroll bar mount to make clearnce for the belt

I painted a couple of engine parts but i think it makes the the bay look tacky?

I have still gotta polish the rocker cover. But its getting there! Just need some bike carbs. What other tpiece methord did people use instead of the g40 tpiece for the oil sensor?

Well done for all that mate, bet its been a right chore on the drive.

Given how the back of the bay isent painted i'd leave the engine bay PERSONALLY. either do it all properly or leave it all together.

Thanks bud. To be honest i hate that the backs not painted and i dont really like the red. Wish i went for purple or teal! I think I'm gonna take lump out again in the future and do a gti bottom so will do a proper job!

Hated the red on the engine looked to tacky so now staying like this. Started to polish the rocker cover to. Spent a few hours cutting exstending soldering the headlight,fan loom so all thats lefted is to wrap it and hide it behind the wing. Picking up a 4branch manifold some time this week to :-) not much more to go!

Picked a new toy for the car today. Before

Just need a 2pin temp sensor carbs, fuel pump and some hose! I'm after another vac advanced dizzy if anyone has one laying around

So have now sorted the temp sensor thats wired up just need a t piece for the oil sensor. I connected my amp just gotta fit the coil mount to the car. Have also got my inlet and exhaust mani on! Its getting there gotta sort breaks soon.

Only thing is my manifold is hitting the antiroll bar i have the arb blocks to :-s
