Yep I'm a rate noob, got some coilovers to fit my 6n, fitted rears but come to fronts n i cant get old ones off, i need an allen key to go in the strut at the top to hold in place but i only have 6 and 8mm allenkeys, I'm guessing its a 7mm?

Just checking before i go out n buy a 7mm incase its not :p

Yes it is a 7mm you need...but I believe the coilovers have a 6mm allan hole in the top?

Also you may find a 14mm spark plug socket handy for the nut you have to undo whilst holding the shaft in place with the allan key.

A friend is also handy to help out as they can be VERY tight if its never been taken off.

Best method for taking them off though...buzz gun and a 21mm socket, job done.

Yeah its a 6 on the coils thats why i was so confused at first hahaha,

ill make my dad leave his comfort zone and actualy do something physical for once in his life n make him hold it in place.

Right u actually need a 45 torque I have had to taker mine off several times the bit at the top is 45 torque and then u need a 21mm spanner its hard at 1st but then its easy to do

Yeah well mine was anyway I tried all the allan. Keys 7mm and all that but 45 fitted perfect just use it with a decent wrench and your good to go

but if its tight and if its not like a star (torx) fitting your either going to break the bit or if its a good quality bit your gna frig the shock.....?

I've lowered must be 6 or 7 6ns now so I'm quite confident when I say its a 7mm allan bit that's needed for the top.

However if you have new non OEM standard shocks on then yes you may find it is a torx on top.
