NumberPlates

Featured Replies

Is it legal to have a number plate in the window, or attached to the front of the car but at a slight down angle? (Eg when you zip tie it to the bottom grills of a 16v bumper)

I've heard that having it in the window is legal as long as it's actually visible, but have also heard that it is illegal.

Just out of curiosity

In theory then, would putting your number plate on your bonnet (Not that i'm ever going to do it) Be legal?

As far as I know, it's the same as the law for trade plates which is they should be in front of the wing mirrors and as close to vertical as possible.

I've asked numerous coppers before and non of them knew for sure 3 or 4 said theyd get back to me, which they did, but all gave different answers :')

It seems to be one of these grey areas :/
