After reading a lot of posts on correct wheel/tyre sizes thought I had it sussed. But apparently not!!

Eventuall got the lowering kit sorted (back on middle setting from manafacturers - asked for 40)

With no weight on the car it sits about 25mm clear. Put some weight on and tyre walls catch the arch lip. The suspension doesn't rise much when the weight is taken off.

Have I got the wrong set up, or does shocks need time to break in?

the kits will settle a bit. Get your arches rolled or knock them back with a hammer (gently) if its only the inner lip of the arch this will solve your problem

What size tyres are you running? I run 13x5.5 ET38 and have no scrubbing 70mm+ down

you shouldnt be getting scrubbage on 5.5js, you must have some uber baloon tyres. 165/55s would be an ideal option on a breddie

Martin, running 165 65. As the ET is 25 they will stick out slightly further than 38.

Think I may have solved the problem though, they are adjustable and I have left them on the middle of 5 settings (as they were delivered) because the supplier asked what drop I wanted. Think this middle setting may actually be an 80 or 100 drop. About 20mm of the tyre is above the straight part at the top of the rear arch.

Do you think that sounds lower than a 40 drop?

if its one of the budget kits you'd be best off putting them on the top setting. it'll sit much better
