I stand by my conviction that if you drive an old polo, you really shouldn't be planning on having a crash.

its so easy to be cruising at 40mph and another car cruising at 40mph which will equal the collision to hit at 80, which in my mind you would be borwn bread. i drive my little polo with shit loads of caution!

was expecting worse to be honest

that only works if both cars are going the same speed though (and same size/weight etc), so it is around 30 mph... even a new polo at 56mph corner to corner would be nearly this bad

Thing is, for the mid 70's, the Polo design was pretty hot on driver safety, thing was by 1994 when the chassis got retired, the world had pretty much passed them by.
