Far too many variables to say really, just get loads of quotes for loads of cars from loads of companies, shopping around will help massively.

Sorry mate haha and yeah I've been doing that on go compare etc but cant seem to get nothing under 3000? :?

Insurance on a mk3 polo 1.3 was 644 pound cheaper than my mums punto I had before hand not sure why though.

That was with kwitfit - not sure about the other though just though I'd add my experiences as minor as they are

It'll be a little cheaper than it says on Go Compare if you go direct to the company offering the cheapest price. I take it that for that price you live near a city and/or it's fairly modified.

Not sure how true it is but i was told that classic beetles are the cheapest car to insure

Just did a Google and it seems I may of been told correctly... http://www.adrianflux.co.uk/blog/2007/06/t...pest-young.html

Bro, I live in the same Postcode area as you, Mine was 170 a month, 350 up front.

I tried them and I literally couldn't get quotes - Nothing would come up, it just refused to find the cars by the registration. I think some insurers don't insure cars over a certain age?

Check out my modified post

Some insurance company's probably are dodgy about insuring old cars but some must be ok for the beetle to be the cheapest for teens

i kube is the cheapest by a standing mile , and I've spent days over the summer till now and this is the cheapest !!!! it does not rape u by you are driving like others, will they only charge you going out from 11pm to 5am which is a £100 an tbh thats nuffin if you do !!

I live in Scunthorpe so a town and thats for my mums STANDARD K reg 1043cc Genesis Bready....

I'm with Quinn Direct: They seem to prefer more modern cars. Insurance on a 1.0 mk4 is £1240 this year, whilst a 1.0 mk3 is £1550.

Unless its specifically a classic policy, modern cars seem to be be more appealing to insurers.

Mine was 700 tpft in my own name with an engine swap 1300>1600 declared at 17 with footman james

It was 5 years ago though

if your going with somethig old then classic insurance could be a possibility, although you may have limited mileage for the year, also i believe theres a goverment scheem where you can do the same sort of thing, you have a tracker on your car and have limited mileage and cant drive it after a certain time at night, daft it sounds i know but if it halfs your insurance for the first year then could be an option for you, aside from that its just a case of shopping around

if the car is old enough, then try footman james classic policy, cheapest i could find for mine :)

Footman James are age restricted :-(

I swear you dont read any of the posts on here.....

I tried on their website and said I couldn't because of my age :?

Have a look on parkers website for insurance groups. http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/advice/car-insurance-groups/

I found admiral were cheapest for me before my car was modded, (at the time I had 1 years no claims and was 21) and they were cheapest for my (now) ex when I sorted insurance for her on a 1400cc clio when she passed her test.

IIRC confused.com are owned by admiral, if that helps.

are you on crack?

nah , trust me , I've looked on all of those comparison sites ect and this is the cheapest , and i don't care if i can't drive between certain times if it means i can drive not not have to wait , also once I've built up 2 or so years no claims i would be moving off that policy anyway

whats the point having a car when your this age if you cant go out at night! faaark that! kurb crawling ftw!

lol fair point :)

Get a woman who's slightly older than you, with a good clean driving history.

Say she's your common law partner and put her as a named driver - the quotes will shoot down.
