hola,mates mums car,polo 55 plate i think ( is that a 9n3? ) basically when she turns the wipers of they stop about 2 inches higher than they should,after not having the problem then it suddenly happening would it be likely they need adjusting? or could it be a relay?

When they go up, does the drivers one go over the edge of the window?

If they do then they just need adjusting down.

Was it snowing where you are? If they were used in the snow, they probably got stuck on the snow and just need adjusting.

Also, do they make a knocking noise when moving?

oh yes we did have snow it could be that actually,or they were stuck to the icey window,i haven't seen them yet so i cant say much, i need to go and have a look,then i can report back properly

I thought it was they they had slipped, but having adjusted the position so that they are parked in the right position, they will now not do a full sweep. They stop about 4 inshes short of the A-Pillar and then hit the bottom windscreen trim on the way down. I have had to put them back so that they can be used.

So they are parking about 4 inches higher than they should do. Does anyone know how the wipers/motor know where the park position is ? Is it some sort of sensor in the motor ?

Any help really appreciated ?

I noticed yesterday that mine also stop about an inch or two higher when not in use, but when I was stopped at traffic lights, I noticed that they went back down to there normal position all by them selves. Maybe there is a rain sensor? Strange.

The "stops" are built into the motor and I am not sure if they are adjustable, but I'd imagine, if it was a fault somewhere, that it would be in the linkages.
