Vw Polo Classic 1986 from Spain

Featured Replies

Hello, my name is Borja. I'm from Spain. I'll try to speak english. If I say any sentence bad, please, tell me what's wrong

Well. I have a Vw Golf mk3 TDI 90. I love Volkswagen's cars.

One day I found an ad in a webpage. It was a Vw Polo Classic with sunroof, 1.3 55, and only costs 200€

I think that it's a Polo Classic Bel Air, but, the anagram put Polo Classic C.

**We did all the job in my house's garage. We didn't have any idea about nothing. We learnt all with this car.**

I begin

This photos are from the ad

I phoned to the ad's number, and I went to see the car. The car was 80km from my house.

The car didn't have ITV (I don't know how to say there...), and didn't have insurance(¿?) The ITV is the MOT in your country

**ITV : In spain, each years, the cars older than 10 years, need to pass a "test". If the car doesn't pass this test, you can't drive it on the streets. If the police catch you, they will do fine.**

I bought the car, but I couldn't bring it. A week after, a friend and me went for the car, and brought it to my house.

These photos are when the car stayed in car owner's house

The day after, my brother, my father and me begin the job.

We dismantle the rear because there were some oxide.

In this moment we decide what to do. We didn't have a wire welding machine and we couldn't buy one because this machine was very expensive. So we repair the car with fiber glass.

Here, the photos of the rear.

It looks really nice! you can fit a golf 1 GTI splitter on the front for extra aggression.

Thank you for the comments.

It's an adhesive. It's bought at a hardware store. All people ask me about it haha.

the start buttons pretty cool! was it hard to wire up?

en España, donde vive usted? yo uso para vivir en Valencia. Yo hablo muy poco español:) bienvenido, se ve muy bien

Ok, I'll try to explain it.

The car had a relay to start the engine. This relay acts between the key, and the starting motor (¿?)

When this system breaks the key doesn't start the engine.

I was thinking about this, and I was just testing.

I took a new relay with this connections: 85, 86, 87 and 30.

First of all:

Take off the old relay, and take off this wire:

zkswj.jpg

Second:

Take the new relay with this connections: 85, 86, 87, 30.

liUhi.jpg

30 - Take a thick cable to the battery.

87 - Take another thick cable to the wire that we cut and join them

85 and 86 you can use thin wire to the button because the 12v from the starting motor, doesn't run in this wires.

In the interior of the car, you have the button. This button need two wires. One of the wires it's the negative.

Well, I don't remember very well this... But you only test with a polymeter. You need a +12v when the engine runs (it's necessary that don't have 12v when the engine is off).

When I remember the system, I'll tell you. Sorry!!! Just test!
