1996 Polo Harlequin For Sale

FOR SALE

VW Polo Harlequin.

For sale is my wife’s VW polo Harlequin. It’s a 1996 original Harlequin that started out life in Guernsey. It was imported into the UK in May 1998 and was kept by this owner until May 2000. It was then sold to a lady in Hertfordshire who kept the vehicle until September 2005. At which point I bought the vehicle for my wife. I have all past MOT’s since 1999 at which point the car had done 28500 miles. When we purchased the car in 2005 it had done just over 73500. It now has just over 98000 miles. The service book has been stamped up until 2005 when we purchased the car, since then i have serviced the car annually myself, replacing the cambelt last year. I have a pile of receipts from throughout the cars history and have always looked after this car since buying it. I also have the HPi report from when we purchased it. The car is in original condition and we have never modified anything on it. It comes complete with original Ronal teddy bear alloys which were an optional extra when new. The car still has the original Sony radio cassette with the 10 disc changer in the boot. The seats have no burn marks or tears.

BAD POINTS

As you can imagine with a 15 year old car, this is not in as new condition, there are a few issues with the car that need addressing but nothing too bad. Last year the car failed the MOT on a patch of rust on the offside sill. I cut out a much larger area than the rust and welded a plate in; i covered it in primer but haven’t put a skim of filler or topcoat on it. The red bonnet and offside rear door are suffering from red paint haze and could do with a respray to freshen them up. The driver’s side door mirror needs a new glass as a home delivery wagon drove down our street and gave it a smack with the box van on this wagon. The mirror back is ok but the glass needs replacing. The rubber bump strip on the near side rear door has started to come away on the front wend and this has been added to by the kids getting in and out and catching it on the front door. The teddy bear wheels could do with a refurb to make them mint but they aren’t that bad. The driver’s seat side bolster is starting to sag but not as bad as some i have seen.

I know these bad points aren’t actually that bad but i would rather list them so that people are aware of the faults.

The car is Mot’d until the end of May 2012 and taxed until the end of May 2012. Viewing can be accommodated any time as long as you contact us first to make sure we are in.
