LOL :-D as some one else mentioned they dont add the work costs in their selling which makes me annoyed and it always seems Mike is the one who always test drives it after all Eds hard work .The latest series I've enjoyed especially the Karmann Ghia which they brought back

People that moan about them not adding the labour costs to it obviously miss the whole point of the show. It's to show that you can make a profit from restoring classics if you do the work yourself, if you did this the profit would be your pay for the labour you put in

Exactly, if you buy a car purely with the intention of fixing it and selling it on you can't really add on a cost for your work/time.

At the end of the day the kind of person who would do this in reality has a full time job and this would just be a sideline for fun and to maybe make a couple quid to buy a slightly better car next time etc.

I love watching wheeler dealers, could sit and watch it all day if I had nothing else to do.

Ed does make things look too easy though, he gets a 30+ year old car in and every nut and bolt just comes off with ease.

Mike just does my head in, still a dodgy car dealer at heart who really doesn't have a clue.

Mk1 gti campaign p slots are rare, they are hard to get hold of and don't expect to be paying no 80 or what ever price your thinking you can get them for on here for. I put a set on the mk1 owners club for 140 just to test the water and within the hour some one had agreed to collect them the next day and didn't even attempt to knock me down, and that was 3 or so years back now.

Don't confuse them with the very common and cheap to pick up mk2 campaign p slots... I guess mike does know more than some people

Its one of the best shows on TV - well it has cars in it and a lot of them i like. The trouble is the values of the cars featured changes the day after they first air as many novices go out looking for one of those..

Ed really does know his stuff - absolute legend.

Mike has been dealing cars for many years before his career in TV - actually knows loads about all types of cars, Dont confuse the lame and dumbed down script with what a car bloke knows.

I've met Mike a few years back when they did an episode of one of his previous shows and featured an MX-5 which was being sold by my friend, and Mike is a proper car guy and knows all the bits that go wrong with different models and can also really negotiate.

The sitting on the bonnet thing pisses me off though.

Good programme, crap script. Plus some of the things they do are wrong or bodged. For example: Not only did the MK1 golf have the wrong wheels. It had the wrong seats, red in a white car. The worst thing, that made me laugh was when ed fitted the side stripes the wrong way up And the porsche 911 episode: Remove broken mirror and find someone had a million attempts at fitting a mirror. dont weld up the holes or change the door, just fit another mirror and say: ' no one will ever know the horrors beneath'

I love this show, watch them on youtube all the time. Usually get addicted and end up watching a few episodes in one go.

I hate it when Mike goes to view a car, starts it and immediately proceeds to rev it's nuts off.

I was going to say, Mike's a real car guy and actually pretty sound, but like Top Gear it's a TV series that's pitched at everyone from the biggest car nuts down to those with a passing interest.

That said, all of the haggling is cringeworthy. Nine times out of ten it lands smack bang in the middle of Mike's offer and the buyer/seller's price.

Viewed as light entertainment rather than a televised version of Practical Classics, it's good stuff.

i enjoy watching it,the land rover and beetle being my prefered shows

been a few head scratch moments though..

wasnt keen on the bentley they had,resprayed metalic grey but kept the blue interior

and the capri they had was a shitter,eds respray on the wing didnt go well

but it is a good show,and good selection of cars which caters for all

nah i know but some of the stuff is £1000s for original is some cars (including ones on the show) . and £140 is fair for most sets of decent original alloys in my opinion . and my point about them being in production was not that you can buy them new but that it would be easier to track through a company who are still trading and with a tv crew.

Not sure what your point is about trying to track them, they only came on run out model mk1 gti's which were called campaigns. The company that made them was pirelli and they wouldn't of seen them since about late 1982 when they sent them off to vw. Possibly the only company worth contacting to buy a set would be crazy quiffs on the mk1 forum... Guess who bought my mk1 campaign p slots?

you know what guy? I love your willingness to rant about anything. everything from mk3 golfs to VR's to Alloy blocks and alloy wheels. you truly do have some stamina when it comes to arguing, a skill I do not possess.

no i admit i didnt realise they were rare or hard to get hold of but my point was they are still in production with quite a few variations so would be easier to get hold pf i was shouting at the telly cos the nice person winds me up thats why I'm shouting at the computer screen now

They are not in production tho, any variation don't mean shit to a purest who is restoring a mk1 golf. And of I'm making you shout at your computer then

I think mike does know his stuff in terms of what to buy etc. He just annoys me, probably due to a shit script.

But I enjoy the show so meh.
