getting it sideways isnt the hard part, its getting it straight again after generally.

I've found from personal experience ,if i boot it and spin the wheel at the same time, at least one axle breaks traction.

The best thing I've driven for controllable sideways action remains a hired 57-plate Transit 115T350 long wheelbase.

I had an e36 318is and it was a great car. In terms of an actual car it was superior to all VWs of that era and probaby a lot of new ones

granted not a lot of power but you could slide it in the dry if it was cold and you were brave

skills learnt in it make sliding the tank I've got now pretty easy

Nothing wrong with a good e36, I had to do some work on a mates 2.5 and it was left with me for a couple of days... So much fun ragging the shit out of some one else's car I liked it so much I was buying it off him in Feb until work went tits up

Not particularly quick but sounded nice, was nice to drive, was a nice place to be especially with the cream leather, and looked pretty smart with all the m-tech goodies and fuck off wide rims. I've always been dismissive of the 36 until I drove one and found it nicer than than the e30 2.5 another mate had

i got the cable threw today fitting tomoz it had corroded on the fittings even before the AYC light poped on it loved to go sidways in the wet its amazing with the pops and bangs side ways... not by choice she just loves it lol

Never been in an E36 318 but I was on the verge of buying an E46 318 until I took it for a test drive. It was the most dull experience ever, it took forever to get through the rev range and wouldn't even spin the wheels from standing on a gravelly road with the traction control off.

If you're considering a beemer, test drive one first. I could not get on with the stupid throttle pedal they have, having always been taught to use your toes on the throttle for more feel, it shows that BMW's are generally made for reps to cruise up the motorway in.
