Brakes:Standard

Wheels and Tyres:Mini Superlite Reps 4x100

Exterior Styling:Standard Bodywork (so far)

Interior Styling:Porsche 944 front seats (looking for gti seats)

ICE and Security:

So i bought my polo back in March this year to work on and have running for my 17th but then that came and gone and I'm still not insured..

Went to have a look at the car in Derry and it was love at first sight..

bought it a week later for £480 which was a bargin! with 98000 on the clock's

i then serviced it and put a new rocker gasket on it as it was leaking, when i was tightening it down the rocker bolt snapped the cam shaft cap and need to get a new one, luckily my mate had a scrap mk3 bread van and got the cam cap for free!

then i bought clear indicators which make the car look alot better

recruited my mate tom to help lower it.. which was a nightmare! worst front suspension ever made! but thanks to google and a "danger mouse" technique we got there in the end, minus i wrecked hub and driveshaft thanks to my neighbour in the "AA", never again will i ask him for help. took the driveshaft into work and filed the mushroom end of it and fixed the hub.

meanwhile i found a set of mini superlites on gumtree for £250 in good condition with 4 brand new tyres. bargained him down to £200.

so i got the car lowered after a few delays and fitted my new wheels and took it out for a road test to find it scraped on everything!

got the tyres inflated and she was on her way,

then bought a set of roofbars

took it to MOT last week and it passed with no problem

and now I'm waiting to get insurance

FUTURE PLANS

buy coilovers

wheel spacers

roll the arches

smoothed boot lid

smoothed front bumper plate recess

back seat out and make a boot build

suede head liner and A/B and C pilars

new speakers as they are beyond useable

gt arch trims

mk3 golf carb elbow joint(to fit an air filter)

golf gti heated leather seats

Looks Good, As far as I'm aware 12"s don't clear the calipers?

What you mean about the picture link? And yeah there 12" they fit over the calliper by like 5mm

Learn something new every day!

he means, When in your photobucket album, instead of pasting a direct link copy the IMG code. Or add [img-] at the start of the link and [/img-] at the end. ( take out the -'s)

edit- are you sure they're 12s? lol

fair dues for running the 12s, id hate to be you on a motorway

i think your possibly the only person in the country with a polo on 12's! to be fair though they aren't too small as the tyres are fairly chunky

assuming your 12's are 6j your rolling radius is only 27mm smaller than my 13x6's with 165/55 tyres, if you were to get low profile tyres though you wouldn't be able to drive it for it being that low

well yanno you gota be different, need spacers for the rear wheels as they seem to tuck in the arch alot more than the front? and one else have this problem?

also i stripped out the back seat today in order to plan the half-cage and floor/boot build

everyone has the problem with the wheels tucking more at the rear of a mk3 polo, just about finding the correct offsets and wheel widths.

Anyone know if mk4 golf/bora seats will fit in?

not without modding the subframes they wont.

cant believe your running 12s and they actually look pretty damn good!

Cheers :) what about mk3 golfs? I know mk1 and mk2 fit tho :)

I though loads of yous would have 12's... Obv not then :L

my 13's are literally millimeters away from my VW11 calipers, 12's literally just wouldnt fit and i think thats the case with most people as the VW11 caliper upgrade is a really common and highly recommended cheap upgrade to do.

my revo's are basically 12's with bigger edges to make them 13's and are mms from the calipers, i had to adjust the springy metal strips so that they didn't rub on the inside of the rim not the face
