I need off some Coilovers for my Mk3, What you got guys....

Youl be lucky as not many people run them, i think mclovin's mate may make them or something like but dont quote me on that. If not he can make them, just whether or not he will is another question.

may i ask why you 'need' them?

i keep trying to convince myself i 'need' coilovers but just struggle to justify the extra cost over springs and shocks.

If you could settle with just the fronts gaz quoted £300 (on a strut exchange basis i believe)

There are some KWV1's potentially for sale at the moment from D16RRT, think shes after £600 for them (they do look mint but she's said she would prefer to sell them on the car)

Or...you could look into making your own, iirc theres a good thread on how to convert golf coilies for the fronts.

I've been running a set of these for over a year and a half and can't fault them, they go lower than any off the shelf early polo kits I've seen and also give camber correction on the front which normal kits don't so you can set your steering geometry up properly

Low enough for you boys? Front will go slightly lower but with the afh sump sitting so low it hits everything as it is, rears are not far off their highest setting

Money! Money! Money! The reason is that my 30mm Springs are rubbing on my arches, I don't wanna remove my spacers on the rear but...

How will coilovers help this problem? Just get some stiffer springs if you can't go any lower than 30mm, or buy some new tyres that fit

This comes back to the reason why i can never justify the £££

Its literally only the adjustability you pay for...for track and show cars I'm sure they're perfect

For a daily its a lot of money for something you might only take advantage of twice a year!

It depends what you want really, I wound mine down to the heights in the pic above, I got both front and back sitting exactly how I wanted (probably best I point out now that my fronts are lower than any off the shelf kit you can buy and still have another inch of adjustment left to go). I then drove it daily even swapping between two different sets of 13's for show and daily use with it sitting perfect on both.

Now I've just bought some wide 14's for it and rather than having to go out and buy another lowering kit to suit the wheels I can just get the C spanner out and get it sitting exactly how I want it again within about 15 mins.

I can chuck any wheels on my polo and I know I can adjust it to suit so it sits exactly as I like and it won't cost me a bean, for me that more than justifies the cost of coilies. Plus the fact that the mk1 coilies give camber adjustment which is going to save me money in premature tyre wear, add that up over a couple of years and they have paid the extra over a lowering easily

This is all very true, like you say it depends what you want...

I couldn't run golf coilovers on the back of a polo again....they were just far too firm for my taste. Been in touch with Kiz and its ~£350 for a package set up on the front. Don't get me wrong this is very reasonable price for you get. My only fear is the effect the weight difference between the golf and the polo has on the rears will be seen up front. Maybe the AVY and AFH peoples won't notice this as much but my 8v still leaves me with a super stiff ride....I suppose you would be the best man to shed light on this as you've been running them for a while!?

Bottom line........I do want coilovers, i just hate the fact i can't really afford them!!

got some 65mm (i think) if thats any use? lol depends if you plan to lower the front some more
