well, me and my wife bought the car 4yrs ago as we had just moved into our first house and had a little one on the way, i owned a corsa c20xe show car and my wife had a tigra show car, neither one was sutible for transporting our new family so along came the cordoba. the car was a one private owner (first being the seat dealership registering it) and she had covered just 46k with full service history in totaly factory spec, all be it she had a few pannels that had bleeched in the sun but was in great nick for a 98 plate car.

my wife ran the car for 2yrs until i bought her a new car as a wedding presant,so the cordoba was put on sorn and parked round the back of my unit.

just before our wedding i had a terrible car accident which left me permanently faceialy scarred, i spent a week in hospital and had faceial constructive seargery, but still mannaged to make it to my wedding and had one of the best days of my life.

after being shook up from my accident and being left with no car i took to using the cordoba again while i looked for something new to work on, (moddifing cars is in my blood and also my job) it was only when i saw a pic of an ibiza gti sat on its ass in the same colour, i knew then that i had to transform the car and give it the lease of life it deserved,

first a few pics of our old cars and my total loss then onto the build

this is how the car started before i started stripping it down

after strippin it down i knew it would be best to get the car sat how i wanted it on the wheels i was going to use so that all arch mods could be done to ensure good clearance ect when it went back on the road as i wanted it still to be drivable aswell as having a good stance. some welding was required after finging a little rust so it was cut out and replaced with some fresh metal to help it live as long as it could

once i had it sat how i wanted it and done the arch mods it was time to strip the rest of the car and begin the transformation

i knew i wanted the car to stand out but didnt want to be doing too much to it,just a few choice changes and finishing touches, colour code the lower half and that would do. i decided to smooth the front recess and had always hated the front grille so found a mk5 polo de-badged grille and cut it to fit in place of my stock one and also to try keep mine looking a little different than others out there

finaly got the car in primer and began blocking the car down ready for paint, there would be no change in colour as we bought the car for its colour in the first place

then finaly got her into the oven for a fresh lick of seat amarello kiwi yellow (although many say its green lol)

i wanted something a bit different on the car just to show off my crazy side so went a bit mad and got my little girl involved and just threw some paint over the roof spoiler top and mirrors, i then spent a week of laquering and flatting to make it all smooth so you couldnt feel the paint build up, some may not agree with my mentality but i feel it gives a great effect

got the bits painted and started building it back up

car now complete and mot'd and taxed so time to use it

now the car is done I'm starting to get back into doing track days again, i used to do loads before my accident but was put off a little after the accident but did a few last year and decided to take a new direction with the car. not going out and out track car but planning on uprateing the anti roll bars, adding some camber, wheel spacers, better tyers, some bracing and maybe a bucket seat and harness. it will still be my daily driver and have to be able to transport me and my family so not going too mad but will keep you updated of all and any changes

thanks, i love the roof too, especialy when my little girl helped me do it, although forweeks after she thought it was ok to throw all paint around lol, got to love kids
