6N2 electric window drivers not working.

Featured Replies

Hi all, just bought a GTI and after paying we found some problems :( firstly is the drivers side electric window wont work, if you press it down you can hear it try and work but just wont, click it the other way no noise at all. I've taken the doorcard off today and found the passenger switch on drivers side bottom isn't even there!! I'm thinking this is probably the switch that is at fault, what do people think? Running out of idea's to be honest. Someone please help!

Thanks, Greg.

The regulators are a common problem on these; you need to get the window down firstly.

Seeing as there is no passenger switch, you can't use that; so you'll need to get yourself a switch from somewhere! There's usually breakers in here; all the switches are the same mate. They go for around 25. You might get lucky and be able to find one in a breakers around your area; there's none here! :/

Once you get the window down, you'll be able to see that the little plastic clips that support the window have come off the runners. A quick drill with a small bit through the clips and then pulled together using a tie of some sort - i used a cotter pin.

You'll be able to see it once you get the window down far enough on the runners! :)
