"PROPER" minis

Featured Replies

fantastic cars, its a serious must own in your life time, they have so much character about them and are so much fun to drive and own, my advice to anyone looking to buy one is find the most solid shell you can, everything else is easy enough, when that rust comes tho then you best have some serious cash to sort it. you seem to have found a good one so def go for it, minis are also a good investment at the min if you can get a good one, there starting to go up in value and its only going to get better so get it done

I'd definitely do the swap! I love driving my girlfriends, it just asks to be thrown around. :D

I didn't really easily fit into it being 6'6" but the seat brackets which are less than a fiver mostly sorted that!

Only bad thing about working on them is the lack of space, but otherwise its all pretty easy.

It looks cool but admittedly I'm a total purist when it comes to Mini's, mint and original or gtfo.

You'd approved of a girl I work with's then.

Totally standard, absolutely immaculate jetblack, was in mini world end of last year

Hahaaaa

Anyway back on track, that was exactly what I was looking for Toby, but there's so many mini forums and they all seem full of Jibba jabba

If he doesn't want any cash, just your car, get off the computer and do the deal!

always tempted with a mini again :-)

you can get 7.5inch brake setup for them so you can run 10inch rims also

long time since i owned one so dont know how much the brake kits are these days, but combined with hi -lo,s and arches you will have a great set up

i still have rear green tinted pop out windows somewhere collecting dust

also if it hasnt already had one fitted then buy the extra engine steady,it bolts from block to the bulkhead by the master cylinder

makes a huge difference as the engines do move around alot.

and extra long brackets for the seats,if your lanky like me lol

and the co op are great for mini insurance,by miles

I have crashed a mini and a vw, if you get the mini put a roll cage in it for your own safety, they are not as strong as volkswagens.

my bro's on turbo minis, he knows everything mini, hes like a mystic guru, if you need to know anything i can put it to him or simply join up to turbo minis, some good gus on there, some even better cars, worth a look

TMF is full of kids bitching (alot worse than this place i can assure you), MINIFINITY i haven't been on in YONKS so cant comment however TurboMinis..... excellent knowledge and if you dont mind abit of time searching through the search function you'll learn all you ever need to know.

B-Shaw will dissagree because hers gay but TurboMinis all the way

Is there anything your not a purist with

Your just gay

I hardly go on TMF anymore, only reason i go on there now really is for the retro run (but now that has its own forum) and if i need stickers.

Oh, and whenever i need to find something mini related.

I didnt have a great welcome on turbominis, i got savaged asif id gone onto edition with fake splits

minifinity, i stopped using it years back because it was full of dickheads.

oh, can you change the name of the thread please, to 'proper minis' or something along those lines

What did they savage you for Toby? Did you do the mini equivalent of signing up here and asking how hard it is to fit a golf gti engine in a mk2 polo?

I used to know a few guys and gals with Minis...

Surely that feature car is worth more than a mk3 polo? :? Or is there something I'm missing

Shit!

It looks like he's put the engine on the ground and built the car up around it! That's a tight fit!

Do it man, you won't regret it. The 1.3 isn't slow either.

Just dont crash one, it doesn't go very well... TRUST ME

I recognize J666 HOL

That orange one next to it too, i have the mini mag it was featured in.

I love how people on here are still like "WHOOAAA" when they see mini's with Vtec's

Thats about as popular in the mini scene as us putting 16'vs into MK1-3 polos. Common as muck

That orange Mini above (at Crail) one of my mate's built that.

Do the swap and drop a 20XE in it.

I found this Mini Traveller tucked away in a farm near Berwick...the guy who owns

it has loads of old interesting motors, motorbike and motoring stuff in there...

Only reason i never owned one is I'm 6"4. A girl i was once seeing had one and i drove it with my knees round my ears! lol
