Bought this in replacement of my knackered MK3 Coupe. Still miss it.. I did want a MK5 GTI, searched for months and they were all heaps which I drove.. so then this popped up for sale, just three miles away from me so I thought I'd go have a nosey at it one evening. (didn't have any intention of buying it as it was a diesel, high miles and I hated the front of these)

Arrived, in the dark admittedly, had a look around, to my surprise she was very tidy, alot better than I was expecting. anyways, he took me out for a spin (I'm not insured being only 19) and it shifted, more than the GTI I wanted anyways. Found myself really liking it, came home, called up insurance company, after a half hour phone call to a women who didn't know what she was doing.. (I'm not sexist, she must have been a trainee) I asked her to check it again three times as she said there would be no charge to swap my current car (1.3SPI Polo, to this, remapped 1.9TDI Sport worth five times as much) she checked and checked, even with another employee there and assured it would be free of charge to swap.

Hey ho. I was pleased to say the least, a newer car, £600 cheaper on insurance, faster and will return 60+ MPG. I had to have it. I sold the Polo on as I had a few buyers, and a deal was done. I collected it later that week. Called the insurance to swap the insurance over the day after, the bloke then said I had to cough up £560. :doubt: To cut the story short, since I'm waffling, the woman had in fact got it wrong, and there was nothing they could do about it. There went my savings for wheels and coilovers in a instant. gutted.

Spec:

Black 3-door Polo TDI Sport.

Remapped to 135bhp and 275NM of torque.

De-cat and deleted backbox with GTI styled lip.

Stayed like that for a few months really, I was enjoying the comfort, fuel economy, lots of trips to the seaside and generally just having a new car. Fitted my headunit and subwoofer as soon as a got home, the previous owner had run the power cable under the car. (not to mention all my spendings went on tax, front tires, Christmas and New Year)

Anyways, fitted the coilovers Sunday afternoon/evening, all the way down, everything out the front and it just sat on the shocks. looked well but banged like a right chuff. :disgust:

Only photo as it was dark.

Had to cut up the bumpstops today and shove them in to prevent the banging, she's filthy but quick got some snaps anyways.

Admiral.. never again.

Anyways, she's settled some more on the rear, alittle too much tbh.

Rocking some reverse rake. fail.

So today a popped the adjuster rings back in the back and it's sitting, albeit, not as low as I'd like, but she's sat better. Specially on the move as she used to proper sag and drag arse when anyone was in the car.

Anyone know how to get the front of these down more? TA Technix's seem to bottom out on the shock/or at least something was banging, going to have alittle look tomorrow, see if a can grind down bumpstops some more to get nose down few more mm.

Oh and, sent this Ribbit other day, may as well bang it up on here.

NOTlow. :(

Looks pretty clean, don't usually like these but this looks cool

If you know a someone to do it, you could get the mounts on your coilovers welded upside down to give you a load more travel

Nothings really changed with this, still just eating the miles and enjoying 500miles to £55.

Nearly broke it in the snow mind, she doesn't like being driven with the handbrake on for too long. warning lights flashing and lots of beeping. Managed to not get stuck once, until I pulled on the drive. :doubt::lol:

Tried my mates 17" Audi TT alloys (can't for the life of me remember what they're called now)
