Hi Guys bought this car last week and thought it was about time i started my project thead!

I have been wanting a polo mk3 for a long time it was just the case of finding one, at first i didnt imagine myself buying one in this state, but hey! its a project aha

I bought this car from my local Volkswagen parts and srap yard for £200 1 MONTHS MOT, it had been sat for 2 months and started on a turn of the key!

I gave her a good clean up, took some time getting the FROZEN mud out of the back haha!, got some upholstry cleaner and had a go with that, turned out ok, also got some new parts!, and you can actaully see the mats now! :)

Got some new side repeaters, planning on getting some clear ones though!

New grill as the other one was cracket, would like some opinions on weither to spray it black or not?

Was it being used for storing mud at the scrap yard or something? . Looks like a good start although you might want to get that rust around the filler cap sorted as soon as you can.

Ha, i was told the prevous owner was an metal detector, but no excuse to let a car get like this!, I've bought some isopo (filler) so i plan on getting that tackled tommmorow :)

Well Hello guys!, Just a small update got some little bits:

Firstly...

Picked this up for £20 from the VW parts specailist, ineed of a refurb and some new tyres but needed some matching ones!

Wanted to keep the original tape player, so bought this and a stand for my phone, works better than expected to be honest!

If you guys could leave me some feedback on what you think i should do next, that would be great!

Where did you find that cassette - mp3 converter?

Hows about looking at the trim?

De-rubstrip, badges, bumpers etc... the most simplest way to clean these cars up.

Hey Guys! first update in a while,

So what have i been up to?

well I've repaired my front arch with fibreglass and resprayed it in Flash Red!

Used filler to repair the hole in my skuttle panel!

Used filler to repair the damage around my filler cap

Got a new leather gt gaitor for my car!

More updates to come, now that the snow has gone, currently refurbing my steels and spraying my grill black.

i had a pretty pink car when i bought my coupe i used t-cut then auto glym wax which brought it up to an alright shine then i bought some g3 bodywork detox (shampoo) g3 body color restorer (like t-cut) and some g3 resin superwax and my car shines brilliantly after a good polish

Right small update for you guys!

I've started on the rear arch, had a fair bit of corrosion so i stripped it down, used some aliminuim meshing, and then used some isopon filler on top, planning on using some fibreglass on top to make a smoother finish!

One of the steel wheels finished, not perfect but should be ok, whilst I'm saving for some decent rims

Sprayed my grill matt black and the VW centre Flash red (body colour) will get some pictures when I've got tyres on the wheels and the grill on! :)

Also just bought a golf mk3 intake elbow and k and n air filter Yes!

List of things to do:

Put new petrol flap on

Make a solid floor for boot

Clean interior again, or buy some GT seats

Give engine bay a good clean

Sand down all filler and fibre glass, then spray over with Flash Red

Get new parcel shelf, if anyone has one Pm me

Buy new shocks and coilovers

Get a 4 branch manifold if anyone has one PM me!

no point fillering over rust mate just make it worse, cut it out and fix in fresh metal.
