hi i might be buying a car from near london at the weekend the guy said he would mot it for me and was just wondering if i would get away without taxing it till i get home, i think your aloud 14 days from mot to get it tax is this true.

well the only time you can drive a car on the road with tax is to a pre-booked MOT. so no you cant drive it if it doesnt have road tax.

the chances of getting caught are slim, but there are cameras that are about just to detect road tax dodgers.

just ask the current owner to tax it and pay him for it.

what ever you do dont drive it with no tax! that meens you also have no insurance is you have no tax.

well thats what i was told

ohh and dont use someone elses tax disk, cause if you get caught doing that its classed as fraud.

i thought if u aint got tax they go through the dvla ? by the time dvla get backt o u get it taxed. but getting the owner to tax it for u is always a better option. if ure insured i think u can get it taxed at a dvla office provided to got the green part
