i am undecided on theses at the mo

I'll agree mate it's a marmite call like but honestly the pictures don't do it justice. It's gonna look so much better painted with the banded steels on the front:)

  • Sould of cut the arch/bumber after to allow it to come off .. Could of made it look ace if it was tapered and done .. Just be a shame if it cracks now :/

Cheers dude. Got the front wheels back on it today. Will get pics up:D can't wait for painting!

Looks cool mate,

Never liked 13s on these cars, at some angles this car pulls it off, but i couldnt drive that low dailey, I've already smashed up my exhaust without even smelling speed bumps, i can only imagine how painful it is to drive this!

Are you going to spray up the wheels clean or leave them like that?

Looking forward to seeing the arches done !

Edit: also, you need camber on the rear, i did mine today.. piece of piss.

Take the wheel off, Take the drum off, take the hub off, wack a washer or two on the bottom two bolts between the hub and axle, put hub back on.. Boom. Camber. (that or buy shitty £20 plastic camber shims)

Ino man it is a bit of a headache being this low. Catches cats eyes changing lanes :D I've had to put a new flexi, two bottom arms and an arb bracket onto it:D

I'm debating about the wheels, I like them with a bit of rust on them as they are just steels really. I've painted them twice before but they always rust in the same place around the weld. Just gave up then:P

I'd looked at doing camber originally with the shims but heard they are a waste of money an this washer banter seems to be the preferred way! How easy is the hub to get off?

Easy, need a 30mm multi fit socket (so one of those sockets that you can put onto a normal hex bolt in two different ways) to take off the hub nut, then just hinge the drum off with a flat head screwdriver in every corner carefully, with a bit of effort and elbow grease that comes off. Then just four 16mm bolts to take off, simples. there are two upper bolts, two lower.. put two washers on the two bottom bolts between the drum brake (hub) and axel. Then reverse this process together. Boom. Done. Check my progress thread later for how they look done.

And as for the arches.. THEY ARE HUGE! Good effort

Seems handy enough then! May give it a bash! Yeah looked at your thread Man. Looks sweet! Banded steels are great!

Thanks man the arches are hopefully getting painted next week. Have been advised to drive the car like this to make sure aches don't split or crack cause it's so low:D

Yes mate. Updates coming soon. Car went to be painted about a month a go and the result wasn't brilliant. The colour match was awful. Apparantly i have a renault silver front bumper, hyundai silver front wings and Mercedes silver doors. So it went back last week to basically get a full respray and I'm getting it back tomorrow. Will have pics up asap.

Got the car back on Sunday morning at 7 there just in time for dubshed. Few headaches and it's still not 100% but it's on the way to being complete. Needs a good proper buff an detail to bring it to it's best but it's looking better than it was. Spent around three hours on Sunday morning getting it somewhat cleaned. Will let pictures do the talking. Car got a good reaction at the show and came second in class. Anyway pics...

Few banter photos

Haven't updated in awhile due to falling out of love for the polow. Load of work needs done, clutch and servicing mainly and I've a massive blow out in the exhaust from it catching everywhere. Got a bit fed up with it an nearly sold it and bought an Audi a4 avant. In the end the mileage of the Audi put me off it an I'm warming to the polo again :D

So at the weekend there I got busy an repainted the bandeds. Was innitialy considering doing them a pastel pink colour but was talked out of it. Ended up painting them rover kingfisher blue (the colour of the old metros :D) and fitted my gti splitter which has been lying about since the start of the year. Also adjusted the camber on the front as its killing my tryes:(

I've also started to source parts for a gti swap as I'm keen to do one:)

Pics of the wheels an splitter here.

Also managed to drive over this on the way home the other day. Got stuck under the car and brought it to a standstill as it was caught under the subframe

Nice car though, it took me a while to get my head around the arches but I kinda like them :)

Car looks fantastic man, pulls off 13's nicely.

Quick question, is that the JOM coillies wound all the way down?

Have you removed helpers or anything? :)

Cheers!

No offence mate, but this was looking cool until you wacked on those gay as fuck arches.

all you needed was some camber and too roll/ pull your archs and you'd be fine.

each to their own n all, but this is gay.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this is just plain rude.

Ok, people have said they don't like the arches. Personally i'm not a huge fan BUT to call his car gay when obviously a lot of effort has gone into it is ignorant and well, down right disgusting.

Grow up lad and learn some manners.

To the OP, not my cup of tea, IMO makes it look like reverse rake city. I remember the days growing up back home when reverse rake was super cool, cut springs in the back of your corsa b?????

Maybe it still is. Been so long since I was home I don't know what the scene is doing these days!!!

Just some critical feedback, just sayin....was an easy fix didnt need to fork out all that cash.
