Hey guys just wondering if anyone has got a 6n2 gti on ITB ? Been trying to find some info on it and cant seem to find any :(

What do you need to know mate?

I'm gonna be running itb's on my afh/avy hybrid although I'm far from an expert on them, infact pretty much all I know is what I'd read up on them from reading many many random threads on Google about them. Even threads about them being used on other sorts of cars can help get a better idea about them as the basics are all the same

You could run a weber sidedraught manifold guy? Or I could machine/make you one?

I had thought about using side draft mani but its not like these are any easier to get for the afh head unfortunately. What sort of price would you be looking at to machine one, what material would it be ect?

Lacey its probably not the difficulty of them that puts people off, i'd imagine its more so the cost of a decent setup

Yeah I see your point, id think that a side draught manifold would be slightly more frequent.

It would be aluminium guy, wouldn't charge you a lot.

It would be a pair of flanges and pipe joining the two. Tig welded.

Thing is tho the afh hasn't got circular inlets in the head, they are kinda clover shaped

i have a 45mm inlet manifold with DCOE pattern that's been port matched to the AFH head, you remove all the clover leaf shape from the head leaving a large triangular port with big radii.

it has no markings on it. picked it up on ebay.de a couple of years ago.

just to add - getting the right bits in the right places is difficult enough, never mind getting it running and setup.

If you can rub a crayon over a peice of paper over the inlet face, I can sort it all out.

a mates got megasquit v3 and some gsxr 1000 itbs etc

hes necer used it think it was abit to much work for him now hes selling them

i'd tell you my setup, but it took me that long to work out and i dunno if it works yet

plus, you'd probably cry at the cost

My setup consists of omex 500 management, novatech throttle bodies, and every thing else bar the mani needed to run them... On a 2 litre redtop

Tbh at least with ITBS you'll be mapping fuelling and ignition accurately, not just bolting on a mk2 dizzy and drilling out jets lol, bike carbs properly isn't cheap either

Providing you had fuel pump & injectors with enough flow, decent pressure reg and good management you're on it

Surely bike throttle bodies on a custom inlet manifold would be the cheapest and easiest?

Probably would work out cheaper but you will still need to buy a lot of other shit for it, wouldn't say it would be any easier tho

hmm! that mangelotsi manifold is not the same as the one i've got.

Is yours a mangelotsi manifold? If so what's different about yours? I'm only assuming that this is the correct one for the avy/afh design head as there are no engine numbers listed on the site. The ports in the photo look very round tho to me

no, thats what i meant, i don't know what mine is and the mangelotsi one is very different.

Have you got any photos of yours?

hmm not to hand. but the closest thing i've found is the dbilas one.

although mine has been vastly port matched so the ports are triangular if you like.
