My Latest Daily!

Featured Replies

Hey peeps,

Thought id introduce you to my daily derv hack!

Bought this back in September last year for a mere £500 and already i've done a fair bit to it (and spent a fair bit on it)

Nothing to exciting i know, but i thought you lot might appreciate it.

The Facts:

Caddy MK2 1.9 SDI

about 65BHP (i think) but basically its the slowest thing on four wheels.. However 65MPG is not to be sniffed at!

I bought it basically just to cart bits around for work, and now i have a dog (and i dont want him in my corrado or polo) then buying a van just seemed to make sense!

Since I've had it, i have:

Removed rear badges

Removed rear wiper

Clear front indicators, clear side repeaters in post :)

Bought a Bra (but dont use it)

Put in 2 front seats (from a mk4 16v polo)

Mk2 polo S Steering wheel

Centre console with cup holder i got at my local breakers coz this didnt have them

Replaced both glove boxes as they were broken, i know they are a diffrent shade of grey, but seeing as the door card and that have other shades i didnt think they look to bad.

Mk4 Polo clocks with Rev counter

DAM GOOD SERVICE and cam belt :)

STICKERS!!!! (love em or hate em!?) its only a van! :)

New exhaust from front to back

Uprated all the speakers with Vibe speakers and a new Sony USB headunit.

Replaced centre console as old one had screw holes from phone holder

When i got it the head lights and heaters didnt work, headlights was just the stork switch (replaced) and a new heater matrix fitted!

Just fitted a brand new tow bar (Hate the look of them, but needed it for carting stuff about)

And of course, how did i leave it till last, Got a set of brand new Team Dynamic Rally/racing wheels (15") with brand new rubber! wasnt to sure about the white on white, might paint em black in the summer but we shall see.

And thats about it! Ill let the pictures do the talking for the rest!

Ow, future plans are:

Axle flip and Coilovers needed ASAP!

Maybe on the look out for a set of 16"s

Body shop work, the two rear arches have a tiny bit of rust, nothing major.. but i want it sorted!

also small dent in DS wing and door to fix.

Going to paint the roof black (if and when i paint the wheels black)

I've got a sub to go in the back when i get time

ANd maybe black carpet in the back. (bare at the minute)

AND THATS IT!

What you think?? Comments and ideas welcome come what may :)

Peace :)

id love some banded steelies on it!

Maybe i should get a side profile shot up.. and let the photo-shopping commence!

Looks sweet but needs lowered badly and the glove box looks fine because of the darker inserts on other bits of the interior. Personally I would leave the wheels white as I think black wheels look too dark on white cars. Gimmie them badges of the back of it :-p

nice van buddy looks real clean for a 98 caddy

Thats quite cool!

I had the SDi in my saloon and I got it remapped by as guy in the US, went a lot better afterwards.

How many have you had now? I liked your silver one you had at college!

Anyway wrong vehicle  are the bump strips just glued on these or part of the bodywork? Would look better without them i reckon, and white wheels do suit it but get nicer white ones please :)

To many polos :) I think I'm on my 8th :s ish haha

Get that van decked and bandeds! All red rears and it's a winner

thats a rought guess lol ill count :D

silver 6n

green 6n

silver/beige 6n

mk2 polo

grey 6n

storm grey 6n

polo saloon

white 6n :D

so 8 hehe

I've had to many other cars to mention :D

you have to paint the rears lol try it lol who cares about indys and reverse :p

If its anything like the polo they are just glued on. I found I got a bit better mpg with my old saloon once it was mapped as you didn't have to rag it to get up to speed without holding up horseboxes

I just don't see any need in remapping a straight diesel :s
