straight swapped my old 6n for a pretty mint mk3 coupe 5 speed Yo !

and its the best decision I've ever made. unfortunately its just a cl so id be look to get a gt top end and a manifold for starters them see where i go from there

Only got some shitty quality pics for now but I've had the car for litteraly two days.

How its was before i got it covered in stickerbombs and just not well imo:

within the two days I've tidyed up all the stickers removed the rub strips properly de wipered and its now sat on some alleycats :p along with a full service etc

got some plans for the interior not quite sure on what fits properly yet though a respray and front coilies

my old 6n sad to see it go

ill try get some decent daytime photos up soon

any ideas on how i can get the best out the lil beaut,

Is it a 1.0CL or a 1.3?

Maybe get yourself a GT cam?

its the 1.3 cl, i was looking to get a full gt head ? or shall i just for for the cam

Well if you can find a GT engine then yeah it may just be easier to pull off the whole head along with the manifold and replace it.

I'm no expert myself, the furthest i've taken a 4stroke apart is the rocker cover! Haha :)

All 1.3 polo heads are the same so you're just as well buying the cam unless you want to change the headgasket and headbolts just to change the cam? If i were you i would just get hold of a GT cam and swap that (do the belt too unless it has been done recently).

I've got a GT cam if needs be :) just bought a schrick one for mine

Id personaly go for a whole head, Mulitpoint injection should see better mpg. plus you get a nice feeling your headgaskets not going anytime soon.

For the sake of changing the head, inlet, throttle body, AFM, airbox, ECU, injectors, fuel pump etc etc he may as well just wait for a full GT conversion.

Out of those bits the cam would see the best gains. The difference in economy would be pretty much negligable and definately not worth the effort of finding and swapping all those parts.

GT cams always pick up the money you pay for them so you aren't going to see any financial loss should you sell it in the future. I would stick a GT cam in the car for now and then do a conversion should you want to in the future. Taking the head off and swapping all that jazz wouldn't be cost effective or really worth while and your headgasket is not like your timing belt, if it was on its way out it would give you some warning so not worth worrying about.
