this is mostly copy/pasted from anuther fourm sorry for any gaps I've lost alot of pics!

we started this one a few mouths ago.

this was when it arrived;

first job was engine box sub frame ect out

all rust removed ther was a small holl under battary that has been repaird(carnt find pic will add whene i do).

ech and high build primed

base coat and clear coat

then all small black bits where sent for sand blasting thes were ech primed at first poss moment so no pics before.

pulys intercooler brackets est also (will add pics ween can find sorry)

rad cowling ,starter ,and sub frames (carnt find pics of rear)

then satine black

wings preped ,drivers repeard (front courner of arch)

eched ,primed and painted

then i fitted rear sub frame and stering rack the old wishbones .struts and a pair of polo hubs that i had kicking about to just to get it rolling.

alonge with the bits that are a pane with the moter in.

not alot left to cach up

just top of drivers and rear pas side doors needed strating out where some little s**t tryed getting intook door cards off and the plastick liners had never been pealed back

doors now strat and primed

took bumper off not alote of work here

that about it so far will do more wene i cane afored the bits. :thumbup:

Chuffin panicked when a flicked past this photo, thought it was on fire.

Good progress on the build though, keep at it.

this is f/p weel arch had a little bit of rot around the plug and bung

underneth has been scraped back down both sides(the middel ia stuck like s*#t to a blanket ill give it all anouther cout of stone chip when i take rear beam out)

not to bad mostly just grond back rust couple bits of welding then eche prime prime and stone chip

(only thine cout for now will go over with th rest)

time to rebuild the motor

needes a good clean

valves ground in and new stem seals

and rebuilt

investergated bottem end all good (if it ant brock dont fix it)

block good to

head tourqed down

time for the shiny bits

new belt ect and timed up

fuel pump timed

new cluch ,box fitted

its back in now but haven't uploided pics yet.

this will have to do untill i can find some condeite

and a few more bits fitted

Nice project. Didn't look bad in the first place but the devil's in the detail. I do love working on old diesels, simplicity is good :)

thanks bud it was v good had never been welded and is 100% complet, the b4s are my dads both tdi's woofs chiped to 140hp and the red one should be about 200 hp when done thers a mk1 as well thats ares to

some more parts in

rad,boost pips ,water pips ect

now ready for oil and water should be running soon

it was bourt on ebay we were exspecting it to be for parts but when it got here we realisd it was far to good to brake and started on head gasket and found ther was nothing missing it even has an under tray

it had never been welded and has all its trimes so we started the rebuild

its done 150k and the cross hashing is still in the bores

is now running :-D

rebuilt the hubs 2day still need 2 paint drive shafts so will fit in next couple days

I've put back together so we can move it to the new workshop it still needs new wishbones ane suspenshon so ill put pics up when I've done them.

Cool resto! Love the way the intercooler tucks under the bonnet - looks like a Golf G60 setup.

Always reckon one of these with a Mk6 Golf GTI engine would be pretty cool as an OE-style build. 2.0 TDI with 168bhp in a Mk2 - and that's before you remap it.

Mind you - dual mass flywheels. :(

I've been looking at tuning its moter should be able to get that with a bit of a fidle and 350bhp is pos but looks like I'm going to have to sell when finishd so ill save it for dads caddy

this ones getting a tdi con soon

1z with titen 764 nozzles fmi and a remap about 150bhp
