Featured Replies

Anyone got them fitted? I'm intrigued as to what they look like before I get some.

Cheers,

Al

Which carpets are you talking about?

Whoops. the boot side carpets for a coupe

for info: there are 2 types early and late early are velcro at the tail light and screw at the wheel tub and later one is plastic plug front and back.

early ones can fit later models but not the other way about as the holes are to big.

they look good, were fitted to boulivards and some late spec (L/M plate) run out models as standard

Great thanks. Was thinking Mk2 Golf if I can't find any might be a contender. Mine is an L reg Boulevard and doesn't have them, but I want to do a little tidy up and creature comforts (sound deadening) on the inside but on a budget

id like to see a set fitted too , was thinking of trying with some universal automotive carpet

Cheers dude and may take you up if mine doesn't have them. They aren't quite what I was expecting and will have to check with the old man if it does have them. I'm after something to cover up the turrets as well. Was thinking that a mk2 golf might be a donor for some side carpets that may fit. Anyone know or done this?

Can't imagine it'd be easy to carpet from scratch

I'm about to attempt carpeting the turrets on mine. Just waiting on my black acoustic carpet to arrive and if you haven't done it by then, i'll let you know how it goes. PM me if you want the carpets and i'll get a price posted.

I'll get one tomorrow if i can and post it up for you mate :-)

just ordered me a set from ebay.de hope they fit squarebacks

squareback ones are shorter than coupe ones but you can cut them down to fit if required so you should be ok with whatever you got off ebay

heres a pic of my squareback ones. they are plastic plug front fixing and velcro rear fixing ones...

Good stuff gents. I'll be covering my turrets next weekend, just a simple acoustic carpet job and some spray adhesive, got black but wondering whether I should have got anthracite instead?...

Function over form I think. Its just the boot after all.

dont you think the acoustic carpet will damage easily...its not that strong

i was looking at the dark greys for lining vans and campers etc ...i kinda use my boot so need something strong

no they are the carpet ones but the back is sort of rubbery.

speaker box cloth is good i did my boot build with it. and my Buster_G40 did his turrets in them and they look the buisness.

are them side trims black or dark grey

id like to do the turrets but fear nothing will match

Think if its stuck down well enough it shouldn't be a problem. I will use the boot but I'm not planning on moving knives around in it ;) sub boxes covered in the same stuff hold up well

  • 2 weeks later...

got my genuine side carpets from germany ...not really much use to me as they have the holes premade for the mk3 tow eye and first aid kit bracket , will be up for sale soon if anyone is intrested

Genesisgt - is there carpet behind your yellow vox (warning triangle?)

Mine came with side carpets.

Isnt there also a full carpet that covers the whole turret?

no its a wee plastic boot sill protector, that fits under the boot rubber seal and clips along the front - you get them out late spec boulevards but usually they are trashed as its light weight plastic, vans have sexy stainless steel ones but they screw into the body. they do a coupe plastic one as well.
