Hey guys, wondering if anyone could shed any light on this for me...

I recently got given a jago geep kit car, it's on a Q plate. It came with no paperwork or anything, and I cant seem to find it on any databases when I do a reg check.

So how would I go about getting this on the road. Would it need an IVA or what? I did look up IVA's but it said something about cars older than ten years old don't need them?

Any help would be appreciated.

If its on a Q doesn't that mean its already registered?

Well I thought that too and it has been driven before, but I cant find it on any reg checkers? How would I go about getting the paperwork for it if it is all ready registered?

you will need to apply for the v5,it should of come with the car,did you get a receipt and the sellers name,ady ect?

No I don't have anything like that. It has been in storage for a few years in my old mans yard, I dont think he was ever the registered keeper, as he bought it without the v5 as a toy for not much money! So is it even possible to get the v5 back?

yes it is,dvla will contact the last owner in regards to a new keeper

they do charge a fee for this though,think its £25 but may be wrong?

give dvla a buzz as said though and they will resolve the issue

No need to ring them, just use a form v62 to apply for the logbook.

I had trouble getting a car registered from Nothern Ireland to UK a while back, the best thing I did was get in touch with the DVLA. They know everything and will point you in the right direction!!
