Rolling road day - pics/videos

Featured Replies

If it's Dan's car that made 105bhp, then I can confirm it's a savage wee beasty. Runs rings around all sorts of much more powerful cars on track, an awesome car!

He's a fuckin sick driver too tbf ;)

Blame Eric, its who i blame for everything bad now.

There was talk of it but only on the saturday. Olly if its there are you going to be working on beating your best bhp figures from last year? :unibrow:

Eric's old news man, forget the kid

You still love me really!

good day all in all, anyone get any pics?

All i remember from my first rolling road day.

McLovin turning up on the most ridiculously wide wellers on his black rocco.

Trying to unlock the door of Ste-G40's red G as oppose to my GT as he had parked next to me and was half asleep. (Similar looking cars).

Saf telling me something was wrong with my GT as it only made 78bhp on a standard engine with no mods. I was heartbroken. Then he remembered i had a GT and not a G40.

The butty man turning up with the sandwhiches... All you heard for 5 minutes was sandwhich for Saf....... Sanwhich for Saf...... Sandwhich for Saf. Fat git!!

The 206 sounds mental, keeper for sure!

Yeah I can't remember what mods you have? Chip, front mount, pulley...is it cammed too or?

Nah gonna do some heavy investigating into the engine itself, compression tests, cylinder leak tests, borascope etc.

Had a little look over today and swung the cam a lot, I mean like over a tooth and to be honest that should have moved the power up and it was shit lol.

Moved it back half way now, so it's retarded around half a tooth and it's a smidge better, have knocked the timing back a few degrees too as plugs looked a little like pre det but mixture is rich if anything...hoping to find something up anyway!

Nah its not cammed its got tootheis ported charger 4 branch gt inlet so pretty basic stuff.I've done a little investigating with mine and think the co sensor seal is leaking and doesnt seat very well in the pipe so that wont help on boost but to be fair all my boost pipes could be better they were made when the conversion was origionally done about 5 yrs ago

Hope you find the problem with yours puts a big downer on things when its not what you expect doesnt it

I wish people were messing around with the n/a engines more before i had my g40 conversion as with all the work thats gone into it i could have stuck with the 1.6 and saved myself a few quid. noh well still cant beat the sound of a charger

It's all good fun,

Gonna try a standard exhaust on mine haha

from what you said the spec was before the 2nd run i did say 135- 1bhp off what you got, the cam is a big unlock and injectors. i dont think I've seen anyone break the 150 barrier with standard injectors and no cam, i know its not what you want to here but i though it was about right. and the power graph was pretty good from what i saw so no reason to say anything was amiss with it.

i need to get chloe on the rollers next year and see what she gives out. if i find the time and cash il whack the 1w in and try for the 220

sounds good too me but theres definatly a leak from the co sensor so i need to sort that. Then if she doesnt sell ill be looking at a cam and putting the g60s back in and a remap. The graph was pretty good till 5800 but then drasticly dropped of which made me think could be getting lean towards the top end.I havnt got anyway of putting the graph up at the moment but ill do it this evening.

cheers

luke

I've still got the image in my head of Kiz lubing up your rim ready for insertion :lol:

Cheers for the video of mine arris. Wasn't the 6n some thing like 84 without the hose on?

Who's was the red mk2 GT that made 105? Didn't look good when it was struggling to spin the rollers. Was that some thing to do with the straps being too tight?

yeah I think the straps were pulling it away from the front roller on the passenger side so when the power came in it was just spinning that wheel. The re adjusted the straps and then it was all fine :)

lol yeh she was a tight un.

What's been done to the red mk2 GT to get 105?

Its always amazed me how we can have "44,049 registered members" and we struggle to get 30 to turn up in one place lol

Amazes me too everytime!

may have regestered twice :crybaby:

but they could just find the info they are looking for using search and not starting ' how to fit dice to my tow eye' without searching for it.

^^^ lmao....Eric-ist

Sounds like you guys had fun up there. TBH, I didnt even realise there was a rolling road day, I dont reallise use the events things as I dont think there is much happening in my area!

Besides, I think i`d have ended up hating the Polo for its total lack of ability to match stock figures (i doubt very much its still the 105bhp the VIN sticker claims it is!)

What's been done to the red mk2 GT to get 105?

From having a rummage it would appear the following: P&P head with back cut valves and multi-angle seats. Schrick 268/268 cam. 4-2-1 manifold. Ported throttle body. K&N filter. Chipped or mapped.
