How low are you guys on 14s on a 6n

Featured Replies

My coilovers have a bit left on them would I have problems if I wound them all the way down? Like rubbing? It just doesn't seem low enough at the minute

Without any details this is useless. What width wheels, what tyres, are your helpers still in and have you had any arch work

Raised sub frame? Pretty sure there's not 147mm from the factory

its had serious work done...I've raised it to -116 now and going for 15s....local council found out about speedbumps lol

-147

Surely that would be laying frame with the wheels off the ground?

its had new front rear subframes modified and new chassis rails its sparks with the smallest of uneveness on the road

where do people get these stupid lowering figures from? mines 172.4567445976465mm lowered. so there.

and for reference this is what a 6n/2 should look like on 14s, done right.

^^^^ where Scott's 6n2 is very low and everything sits so close, it's an achievement but personally I don't like it lol

unless you're gonna tuck down to rim on 14s i don't think theres any point, takes alot of work for it to sit (arch to rim) as it would on 15s.

Tucking anywhere near rim on 14's is very hard work (Yes I have managed to do it on 14 x 8's et 20)

You'll need notch's, custom coilovers' serious arch work' raised engine or plated sump and to have some big balls

I can't get to rim on 15's hahahahah

I can't get to rim on 15's hahahahah

But yours has been built for speed so it dont need to be low :D

Or there's a driveshaft and sensible size tyres in the way haha

You seem to have spent loads of money on mods etc, but you still have pretty crap wheels IMO. Get some new wider wheels

it did have ats cups but they went on a friends corsa that he ended up writing off

i have ordered some 15s from germany that i need to get painted to match the car

Being an "old" bloke, i originally joined the forum to get help with the Mrs Polo.

So its stupid question time...but..... when they are that low, how do you turn the wheel??? Are they lowered like that to show how low they go, or is there something i am missing??

As most of the lowered (like the top one) ones i see on here , i cant fathom how youd be able to say do a 3 point turn without making it into a 100 point turn!!

Let the flaming and laughing begin :)

its a challenge to get it mega low my car used to rip catseyes clean out of the ground on the motorway before i raised the rrear up ready for my audio build. and was constantly asked if it was on air ride i love the satisfaction that £300 worth of coilovers was getting same response as friends £2000 air ride kit

That's low, but not 147mm low.

And it's weird how you get full lock, the wheel kinda tucks in as you turn and just misses the arch, I was surprised when I put my wheels on.

You forget a lot of people run tyres loads smaller so there's more room than you think

thats after it was raised for audio and catsesys issue.... hoping to get my 15s on and lower it back down.... my chassis is notched by 5.5"

I want 14s but my area is a nice person when it comes to shit roads and speed bumps. Cousin ran them on his 6N even though he lives across the road, was a pain to drive but looked wicked.
