Cut Springs?

Featured Replies

I bought a 60/40 shock and spring kit for my MK3. But now the inevitable has happened. I want to go lower!

I have no problem in paying for lower springs, and fitting them to the current shocks. But before I spend the money, how bad is it to run cut springs? I'm no mechanic, but I cant see a problem (as long as its done properly) in just cutting the springs down to the size of 80mm ones?

Just trying to save some money. But wouldn't want to make my car unsafe.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
