Featured Replies

right need some help here, basically when i start the car up its doesent like to run at all but after a while it picks up and runs fine i think it sounds like its not running on all cylinders but I'm not sure I've checked the choke and it seems fine, and last night driving home from work started smelling burning oil so pulled over and noticed that my exhaust at the pack of the engine bay was covered in oil does anyone know what could be causing these problems ?? will upload a video of how she runs in a bit

How much oil are we talking?

You will probably find that the oil on the exhaust has dripped from the engine breather. Cleaning or renewing this may cure the problem. The fact that it is not running on all cylinders, could also be down to this, as oil may also be entering the air cleaned and getting into the carburettor and cylinders.

Before you do anything more drastic, try cleaning out the air cleaner and leaving the top off for a while and see if it has any effect on the problem.

You may also find that the short hose which connects the air cleaner to the breather is partially blocked and?or perished.

Regards.
