Wheelers Mk3 Polo VAN

Featured Replies

Hi

Been a while in getting round to doing this, as i was meant to with my previous polo! A red Coupe GT.. BUT at long last have :).

I brought the van at the start of december, with the idea of it being a rolling project from up in telford! 200miles(ish) away from me in Essex

1.3 polo van

Sold as a GT, only to find out it was an NZ! (my baaad!)

Was: White! Currently a sickasfuck, dark Blue flick paint with GLITTER in the paint  Owww yes!

Hazardus guess at at 70mm springs on facked standard shocks.

VW Tarantular wheels.

MOT till April 2012.

Essentially.. I brought a piece! :smirk:

Things didn't get off to a great start

20Miles down the road, she was pouring out oil and the pressure light was flashing :x

Diagnosis;

Oil pump fubard, crankshaft oil seal (pulley side) had seen the best of its days!

So, it finally got dropped back curtasy of the AA relay service, 2 Streets away.. I decided to drive it back with the ol' man following.

Got home and more bad news! when i put my foot down cornering fuel was gushing out  So i'd suppose a pipe split? Admitidly it was a brimmed tank!

Time for a heavy one at the pub.. Drown some sorrows! :crybaby: haha!

A late start to the next day, i spent no time in getting stuck in and got 'tinkering'

Good to see you're saving the poor thing from it's previous owner.

Good luck getting parts for the NZ engine, they're a pain to find.

At least there's no messing about, stuck straight in!

While the engine is out, would you consider a whole new one? Like an AFH? (erixtar1992)

It'll be good to see this done in white :)

Yup, progress has halted at the moment due to the weather! But getting things in order to just crack out when its about 0 at least haha :)

I've got a GT lump thats had a lightened crank, rod and flywheel. Been ported and port matched to that was rather cheap!

Otherwise i'd much rather have a cheeky AFH :-( .

I can't wait, will be such a turn around i hope! :p

Will be following this! Apparently there getting pretty rare?!

Mines got a slight unknown oil leak thats rather worrying.

Crikey that engine bay looks hanging, hope you give it a real good sprucing up before you put the 3f lump in it.
