will a dizzy from a mk2f spi work in a 6n 1.4?

Had a bit of an emergency today and need an emergency dizzy for a mates 6n. Will an spi dizzy work in its place?

It'll fit and work enough to get you home etc, but it's not a proper solution as the gaps in the rotor/chopper inside the dizzy are too small compared to the correct 6N part which will affect when the coil fires the plugs. Quite common to see the wrong dizzy on GT's and G40's which causes rough and erratic running.

Nice one. My mate will be getting the correct one from a scrappy now anyway. His head overheated (suspected oil pump failure) the camshaft got so hot it melted the drive pin on the dizzy!

Nuts.

This was the car me and my brother borrowed for the day as my Mk2 is still STOLEN.

Shit day by all accounts..
