mk2 golf gti cheap

Featured Replies

hi all welcome to my sale i'll be sad to see it go but just can't afford it anymore its a 1988 mk2 golf gti 16v 3dr its mot ill aug and tax till march Its bloody nippy when it wants to be and really very economical when driven carfully i've had 40mpg on the motorway before. It could drive it down to the south of france tomorrow mechanicaly though i'm sure it would get some funny looks once it got there. The paint is peeling in places and gone all rough in spots which i've tryed to show in the pictures. Theres the odd small spot of rust, the largest being by the passenger handle which i've shown. Also the interiour panal behind the pass seat has been coming away ever since i've had it and both interiour front panals have been a bit loose at the bottom but never got any worse. I've always looked after it mechanicaly as i've really enjoyed the car, recently i've had both rear bearings and a front bearing replaced, both strut top mountings were replaced. Two brand new tyres in December too so i expect it could do with the tracking being done. Last year i replaced the front shocks with bilstien shocks. Its had annual oil changes.its just had the therstat changed in last 2weeks.

The passenger seat has a rip in it and is slightly stained, the dark bit in the photo is water from cleaning. The other seats are fine considering her age. Ido have that bit of trim thats missing off the side too, and a copy of the Haynes manual to go with her.

I've kept some of the reciepts and do have a couple of mots and the V5 doc

As far as the odometer it only seems to count a third of the miles done so its probably done more like 160000 max, I say max as i work away quite often so don't use her all the time, but when i need her she fires up first time and theres no smoke!!!

Since shes a classic, shes also cheap to insure and i'm not too sure why i'm selling her and not the nasty polo. Anyway I think i've mentioned all the bad bits and good bits, but i do recomend a viewing

the steering wheel and boss not in sale or the cd player but a kenwood 1 will

good offers please (1k ono lol )
