Hi everyone I just wanna say thanks for all the advice and help I've recieved in the last 2 years off here, and all the bargains I've bought. Basically I'm selling up my polo as I can't insure it! What happened was about 4 months ago I was on my moped going to college and it was chucking it down, I wasn't speeding or acting stupid it was a 40 and I was going 20 as the weather was so bad, I was riding and a corsa was in front, I made sure there was a safe distance between us( or so I thought) and out of no where the old lady emergency stopped of which she claimed she was allowing some one out of a junction( this is a main road and there is no reason you you stop to allow a car to come out) I then slammed on the brakes and I literly slid and this is no lie about 15 metres must been more and went straight into te back of her, well my back end came out so I stupidly put my foot between the car as the bike, she then stormed out of her car and gave me abuse never once did she ask me was I ok, passers by stopped and even told her it wasnt my fault as I slid, I kept my cool even when she was abusing me and we swapped details ect, I got a call a week later from her husband who seemed very nice, he told me he would rather mot go through insurance and I agreed, I asked hi

To get a quote for a new bumper and resprayed and I will pay for it, no problem he said, he came back to as wanted £549 for a unpainted bumper! It was only a 02 corsa! I said I don't mind paying but I said I might be able to find some where cheaper he said no problem I got a quote to repair the bumper for £199 I then tried calling him no reply I then tried every now and again but no answer. Now a couple of moths down the line I got a letter quoting my bike insurance is now £900! I only paid £200 before the crash, I'm only 16 and I've looked into insurance for my 1.0 mk3 and it's saying I can't get insured! I called them up and they said the only likey cars I will get insured on are group 1 cars, I've called about 12 different insurance company's all saying same thing! Thought I would thank everyone for helping me out as it looks like I'm going down the Citroen c1 route... :( so now my polos for sale

It doesn't matter now it's all gone through insurance now and there bumper was fixed( cost insurance company £250 to repair but fucks up my insurance for 5 years) I would of happily paid that but oh we'll what's done is done

I wasn't calm when I first realised I'm fucked insurance wise but I can't do anything just angry at the gentlemen going through insurance without even giving me the chance of paying up

The police shouldn't "probably think" anything just because you're young, that's discrimination? You should have made it very clear that you allowed room and she stopped suddenly on a main road. If you did allow enough room then I fail to see how it could possibly be your fault that she stopped on a main road.

Regardless of fault it was an accident which hasnt resulted in a claim.

Your insurance goes up if the police find out and your details are logged.

the police should remain unbiased at all times and should have gone and interviewed her also it was,nt her husband place to call you he has no right whatsoever it was her driving so she should have been sorting it out theyve basically took the piss out of you fucking cheeky bastards
