Hi there am I right in thinking my bready being a c reg is pre emissions? If so would it be emission tested if it has a 16v conversion? As I'm worrying about it as the mot will be done after the conversion is finished and it'd be hard to get it to bogg bros or similar to have the carbs set up properly.. Any info much appreciated :)

My old B plate breadvan got emissions tested. I think up until '92ish when the cats were in, the requirements arent as strict. Not sure about the engine conversion tho. I've been told it goes on the age of the vehicle as I'm putting a '91 3f lump in my '93 fox coupe and I need a cat. Hope this helps.

Everything has an emissions test, however, the age of the car (or the engine, if the engine can be shown to be older than the car) determines what the maximum acceptable levels are. Yours will be tested based on the age of the shell as a none-cat'd carb'd engine.

Ahh right ok :) dunno where I got that from then! Aha, how'd do you reckon it'd do on standard jetted carbs? I know most engines will be different but just at a guess or if anyone has gone through..

Check the bike carb setup thread in the FAQ there's my co and hydrocarbon readings along with jet sizes pre and post mot. Was a b reg 1985 mk2 with a valver lump.
