A Brief history, the Polo was factory specification including its 1.1l engine, until only 2 years ago, when the previous owner sourced a mk3 1.4 golf engine with a polo GT camshaft, twinned with a polo mk3 gt gearbox, and converted the injection fuel delivery to CBR600 Motorbike carburetors, as well as a custom made 2" stainless steel exhaust and manifold, Raid steering wheel to hold on to. Logbook has not been ammended.

Soonafter the conversion, they needed to sell, so luckily i purchased the car, in the time since i have had a 70/40 lowering kit fitted (adjustable rears, currently on highest level), by 'Philj' at his workshop. I've fitted Philj's ARB blocks and de-wipered the rear, whilst buying a set of 7j ATS classics, which are currently fitted and have good tread on tyres, Alloys could do with a refurb.

Thereafter i had the carbs retuned/set up correctly at 'Bogg Bros' near Hull. The Analog Rolling road readout was 85bhp. this was approx.

Bodywork; generally very good, expected marks and dings for an original paintwork 38 yr old car. additionally a scratch/crease above rear passenger arch, caused by a careless parking vehicle (under previous ownership, not mine)

MOT; Will have 12 months ready for sale

Tax; Aug 2012 (ready for summer :-) )

Mileage; Shell only 48'888 miles ABD engine; Approx 90'000 miles total, 8'000 since Carb'd

service history; I have managed to retain some of the service history & receipts from the long life of this car.

GOOD Points;

Its a joy to drive and the throttle is very responsive.

Suspension means it love a corner.

Weighs very little with 85bhp.

Sounds gorgeous (courtesy of bike carbs).

Where the paint is good, it is very good, astounding considering its 38 yrs old.

The mechanical set up is so simple there isnt a great deal to go wrong.

Solid Chassis.

Fuel filler neck is in good condition

I also have a set of 14" x 6j laquered steels in VGC and a new 'Philj' Poly Bush Set, that will also come with the car.

I have the rear seats and spare door cards and the original rear wiper + motor included in the sale

Bad points;

Areas of rust include two front wings and lower areas on rear wings + around bottom of rear window, front wings would be replaced ideally.

In wet weather water does find its way into the rear of the car, boot seal or window seal, resultingly the rear of car is wet at times.

Cold weather, or leaving for days will require a jumpstart, I've replaced the battery, unfortunately this did not solve the issue.

All in all, a lovely car that could be a brief project, or very enjoyable as it is. I will be dissapointed seeing this car go for whatever price tbh, i believe it is priced sensibly and i have been completely honest in the description.

Price; £1800 £1600 offers still welcomed. with ATS Classics and 14"x6" Steels good tyres + original steering wheel + rear seat and spare door cars etc, offers welcome just try me, px considered passat/mk3 golf estate ish (something roomy) try me.

Feel free to come and have a look and I will take you out in the car, phonecalls and texts are very welcomed, i'll get back to you in good time. as i won't be on the forums all of the time, my number is 07541417170 postcode CV3 in Coventry

Thankyou for looking :-) See photobucket link below for more photos.
