1989 Tornado Red Breadvan Gt'd

Featured Replies

Hi i purchased a mk2 bready 1.0 c a couple of months ago!

its tornado red i believe!!! has 41000 on the clock and a few past mots

the car was completely standard when i had it and the paint was quite badly faded

it still had a couple of months mot and one month tax

its a wolfsburg built car so rust is very minimal (usual slight front wing surface rust and one spot at the bottom of the drivers door) very solid car

I'm on a shoestring budget but i have done a few things today

here is some pics of what it looked like when bought

Promising work so far :-).

Being a G plate it'll be Tornado Red, as Mars Red was an earlier colour up to around '86.

after spending a stupid amount of money revamping my 1.0 engine (400+) i have now decided i want a conversion doing!

(so if anyone wants a 1.0 with 42000 miles let me know, its had done.....: thermostat, skimmed head, new filters, ht leads, distributor and rotary arms, cam belt, head gasket, rocker cover seal, carburettor gasket/plate, choke pull down unit, all timing done... will come with a 4 month old fuel tank if needed and 4 speed gearbox) will sell it cheap!

i am hopefully going to buy my mates conversion.

its a 1.4 abd bottom end, port polished gt head, 8k chip, injectors, 8p gearbox, tank, pump etc

Also i had some p slots on my car but the rear tyres were rubbing on my breadvan so selling for 80 quid. have some tarantulas I'm picking up on sat, then lows and mk1 golf splitter that afternoon!!!!

watch this space!!

I've got the car back now, runs extremely smooth and is quite a bit quicker than the standard gt. Pics to follow when it stops raining.

Would like to thank Josh aka Joseleeds for all the hard work. I totally recommend this guy to anyone.

Needs some alloys man!

have some p sluts I'm refurbing but going for the stealth look for the minute :-D

understated is what I'm going for, a real sleeper

Good man!

Personally I wouldn't bother with alloys at all, I'd keep it low key as possible and when Mr fancy man pulls up for the traffic light grand prix, show em who's boss! ;)

But I've said before, it's your car, do what you wish with it :-)

thanks mate :-)

yep already shown a few audis up 8-)

the interior is totally standard too, i dont want unwanted attention.

the only thing that gives the game away is the solid followers and the raspy exhaust

It was a really rewarding build transforming this, especially as it goes so well now!

You should get a full spec list up to show exactly whats been done...

It's a proper little sleeper and i think it should stay that way too 8-)

I reckon you have the right idea with the trims and spacers and definatley some low profile tyres as it's bloody scary not to mention dangerous driving it on those 145 80's haha!

If you need anything else just give me a shout mate.

GT coupe or MK2 coupe S wheels. 165/65/13's as standard fitment and and 5.5J. Fits breadvans perfectly!

Lovely breadvan
