At the end of the day blanking your plates off from the internet stops some bellend from the other side of the country taking your plates to commit crimes.

it doesn't obviously stop someone who literally sees your car but it does reduce the chances of it happening.

I don't do it cause I cba but I understand why people do it.

My brother in law got called up by the police for speeding and dangerous driving. It apparantly happened in South Wales. He lives in Northern Ireland and was working at the time it happened. Car was sucurely parked in a video recorded underground car park in Belfast (he works for a bank). The only thing it could have been was that his car was all over online forums without the plates blanked off.

It does indeed. I remember chatting with Steve Millo, one of the first CP members, who had the Police turn up at his house in the middle of the night to say his car had been nicked and was upside down in a field. He opened the garage door and it was still tucked up safely inside.

Again, his car was in the original members' gallery on polo-gt.co.uk so easy to find and clone!

Close friend deals in alot of mini's he has 5 or 6 at a time. Someone got onto his courtyard popped the bonnet and stole the VIN plate and the rear plate to a cooper he picked up a couple of days before from norwich via one of the major mini club fourm adverts. He had met the guy a few times at shows are really liked the car and jumped at the chance to have it off him.

If you google the name of his house it pop's up straight away so he now has to reg them all 20miles away at his grandparents and only does deals from there now, even if the car is just a bare shell he tow's it from one location to the other or meet people half way.

But that life right?

hahahaha i was thinking the same but you actually need a igntion coil aswell and if you wire a condenser to hold the charge to make the spark a bit stronger and if your quick enough drill a hole in the fuel tank and quickly screw the spark plug into the fuel tank but make sure you have a bowl to cacth the fuel so it doesnt leave a wet pacth under the car to rise suspicion and then you could from underneath the car wire it to there brake lights or summit :ninja:

hahahaha and the scary thing is beeing a mechanic you know how to do these things so is it the scene you need to trust or your local mechanic hahahahaha

but on the trust issue any pictures on my car on the web are of my previosly scrapped car and i clip them on for pictures just for cloning issues i dont care if any one thinks its silly i preffer to do it just for peice of mind knowing that if the steal my reg plates of the web all there guna do is get flagged up from anpr for a car thats scrap and hopfully get pulled over lol
