This evening I got a phone call off my mum crying saying that her mk1 had been writen off, she bought it a good 3 or 4 years back now after promising herself one for far too long and she cherished it ever since. She's not a car person as such but this has been her baby, I'm fucking gutted for her.

Her chap was driving at the time and apart from some bad ass whiplash and a good dose of shock he's ok. The truck is from a local company called M.A.C who seem to pride themselves on employing the most retarded muppets they can drag from the bottom of the gene pool, most mornings I see them racing 3 in a line through red lights on to the main road. One of them nearly killed a mate hooning it round the industrial estate in the snow and everyone's always on about how there will be a fatality caused by them sooner or later. Police didn't want to know about it as no one was seriously hurt (fuck knows how tho), as far as I can see that's dangerous driving at the very least?

Luckily there was an independent witness who saw it all and said he will go all the way with it so the truck driver shouldn't be able to wriggle out of it, but that doesn't bring my mums golf back

That's a shame, but given my own experience this weekend, all i can see right now is him getting out without injury. My wife doesn't care for my before and after pics, she doesn't care about the car at all..

..she cares that i went home and spent the day with our nine month old baby, and went out the next day for our first wedding anniversary. And same here.

So i'm only really seeing a tired old Golf.

However, this doesn't answer your issue with the way a particular company are practicing their business, and here's hoping that the attitude regarding company policy will make changes that reduce the threat to the safety of the public.

I've not seen it in the metal yet but apparently its well bent. No doubt there will be a personal injury claim involved but it has fucked john up pretty badly and he's self employed and got a mortgage to cover and isn't in a fit state to work atm (simon if your reading this this is why you can't have the polo delivered this weekend ). Yeah, neither the subframe or tree stump wanted to move though. So the weight above carried on going, forcing the car to somersault. I've now noticed how caved in the dash is, showing the force in which i ploughed into it. My knee went through the heater controls, yet not a scratch.

As i stripped it down today though, it's revealed that pretty much the only thing that survived in tact is.. me.

I was hoping to sell the engine, but the block's cracked where the rear mount broke. The entire bell housing was smashed off, even the clutch was torn open.
