We went and picked this car up yesterday. the cam belt has snapped and it needs a new head. which i have luckily in my spares.

today we spent cleaning and polishing to get this car looking to as back to her best as we can.

One question. I would say its been lowerd as it looks lower than standard and it has red springs. any ideas how much from the pics?

Looks tidy after a good clean! i wouldent say its been lowered much, 20 - 30mm ish

a few jobs need doing. other than the head. cut the tailpipe off the rear box and weld it back on so it exits the car at a good angle. at the mo its way off looking good at the angle its at. also need to find a blck headlight washer cover and fuel cap cover as that is broken and had been glued back together.

Most probably 40mm spring kit thats on it, as you know GTI's where 15mm lower than any other 6n2 standard (iirc) so its a 25mm drop
