As the topic title says, i am a full time student at university and looking to change my insurance and to have my own policy

Also, as it stands, since early September 2011, i have been away from home for 22weeks and have been back home for a total of 5

(of the 5 weeks/35days i was home, i say i only drove on ~15 of those days because of Christmas, family driving me around etc.)

The car i have been driving is a 1.9L (non turbo) Diesel, 2000 3dr reg Polo E, with ~98,000 miles on the clock

the car is extremely well looked after by myself (cosmetic and mechanical), as i am responsible for its up keep, but my mum is the main driver of the car

I have held my licence for a year and a half, passing first time with less than 6 minors (either 5 or 4)

I am yet to claim on the insurance policy i am on, as i have no prangs, accidents, incidents etc.

most of my driving is residential, visiting family and girlfriend etc. in the local area

my car is parked outside my house when i have been home, but for the 22weeks i have been away, the car have been stored in a garage for ~18weeks

Basically

I need someone who will take into consideration that i am a full time student

I am away from home ALOT of the time, so the car isn't used that much at all

That i look after the car with the utmost care

I am a full member of ClubPolo

and the current insurance i am on (as a named driver) said that i can have a NCB of 1 year if i continue with them with my own policy, BUT they are too expensive

All in all

As the topic description says;

I am aiming for my own policy, with the given considerations above, all for under £1,000 a year

Nope, that's just a list of what people on here are paying and who they're with, so it gives an indication as to which companies are worth phoning for a quote.
