Insurance?

Featured Replies

Basically I can't find anywhere to insure my 82 loon!

I've got my test on Thursday so I'm looking around atm.

The 2 classic insurers I had in mind have now stopped there U21s policy! And I had quotes from them at around 1200 :(

Anyone got any ideas?

Adrian flux have always been unbeatable for me.

They quoted me 4k! :(

With admiral, I'm 18 and it is costing 2500 a year payed up front.

Couple things I done to make it cheaper,

Adding both my parents as second drivers

It happened to be cheaper to say its parked on the road instead of the drive/garage

Also I think I'll do about 12k a year mileage, but I told them 8k

And Last of all, I started my insurance 2 weeks after passing my test, instead of saying I had 0 months experience I said 1 month with took about 200 pound off

In total doing all of this stuff probably bought it from 4k down to 2.5k

Oh and I have a 6n polo 1.9 deisel

Hope that helps man!!

Getting your mileage estimate wrong by 30% could leave you uninsured. Dumb thing to do IMO.

You have to be 110% honest with insurers!!

Is your car standard or modded?

flux wont touch you with a standard car (for a decent price). they specialise in modded.

If its standard, LV can't be beated. But they hate mods so

Ahh cheers B-Shaw for the heads up on Adrian Flux, it's currently standard, cheapest I could get with LV was 2800 TPFT

Thing is I'll probably be driving for 6 months instead of a full month as I'm going to Uni, makes everything much worse!

LV prefer you to take Fully Comp so I'll bet a quote for that will be cheaper than TPFT.

Try www.nationwide.co.uk - provided by LV but was much cheaper for me on my first car (2010 Clio 1.2) by about 25% compared to the fat opera guy and his meerkat!!

they chopped £400 from my renewal on my boggo 6n2.

bringing mine extremely close to triple figures.
