Third party or fully comp

Featured Replies

Hey,

My renewal on my 6n is soon,

I dunno whether to go fully comp again or TPFT.

I doubt I'd claim for anything fully comp as it just messes up next years insurance etc.

Only thing I'd want fully comp for would be glass and driving other cars TPFT (which bring 20 virtually nobody let's you do)

A lot of specialists only offer 3rd party for under 21's too.

I need a policy just with a power limit and unlimited cosmetics, I have this currently with Brentacre but I think it's gonna be expensive this year.

6n, engine change, modded engine, exhaust, coilys, interior, wheels, bumpers, brakes etc all need declaring.

3 years NCB & cv5 postcode.

Also need at least 12k miles a year as its a daily!

Any advice?

Your vehicle value is low so TPFT is going to be a better bet. I do not know of any insurers who will offer you DOC cover at your age and be wary that DOC is often excluded from many fully comprehensive policies these days. Glass is going to be cheap for your car, probably not much more than the excess you'd have to pay.

Your vehicle value is low

oh no he didnttttttttt

I've found for the 4 years that Fully comp has given cheaper quotes than TPFT, just phone up them and ask for quotes on both levels of cover

Its a polo. Course it's low haha

true but its more the fact he said it about your car

In insurance terms. A polo compared to a Ferrari is low value lol

try the usual suspects. Sky, Chris Knott, Adrian Flux etc. steer clear of GoCompare Compare the meerkat etc.

No offence meant but as pointed out, it is a low value car as far as insurers are concerned.

he meant low power value!

As I've recommended many times...

Sainsburys, fully comp - even better if you have a nectar card! saved me £500 a year.

Adrian Flux etc etc cant touch them :)

Sainsburys like engine conversions and carbs and coilovers, wheels, interior, bigger brakes?

computer says no
