1992 MK3 GT Coupe High Spec

Featured Replies

Up for grabs is my 1992 MK3 Polo GT coupe in tornado red. I have had this car since February last year and it was stood until September 2011 whilst the build was under way.

TAX - 31/08/12

MOT - 30/08/12

MILEAGE - 216,000 ish

LOCATION - Hucknall/Nottingham just off junction 26 of the M1

Ideally looking for swaps with another MK3 GT Coupe that I can have my way with only light modifications, l or something Diesel and cheap to insure I'm only 20 :-D . But try me with anything you never know. if that fails 1,350 ovno

The reason I want to swap is like I said I didn't drive the car until September and so i didn't feel like i had got to know the car before it became what it is. I want something i can drive and get to know right the way through the modification feeling every little modification. Not just jump in and drive away.

Anyway enough crap about me beeing sad or ill which ever way you look at it... the car.

Good Points

- Ported and polished cylinder head and matching inlet manifold.

- De-wedged throttle body.

- Will come with Polo Ace 8k chip if it comes through (if not ill post).

- Richened mixture (performed by ex C and R technician).

- Newman Schrick 268/268 high lift cam shaft.

To go with the New head and cam:

- 8 new valves (re-cut and ground seats).

- 8 new valve guides.

- acid dip.

- 8 new followers.

- new cam oil seal.

- new distributor oil seal.

- new head gasket (wasn't gone beforehand).

- new rocker gasket.

- stainless steel 4-2-1 manifold and de-cat with lambda boss.

- full stainless steel custom made exhaust system.

- new BOSCH fuel pump.

- new fuel filter.

- new Volkswagen throttle position sensor.

- Golf GTI air flow metre (not yet fitted but does work).

- G40 polished Rocker cover (with custom Bolts and seals)

- Painted cylinder head and inlet manifold.

- new battery.

- reconditioned alternator.

- new plugs.

- new leads.

- new rotor arm.

- new distributor cap.

- new oil and filter.

- new black diamond grooved discs.

- new Mintex brake pads.

- new AP 60/50 lowering kit.

- new rear strut brace (not fitted).

- braided brake hoses.

- BBS G40 RA alloys in average condition.

- 4 new michilin energy saver tyres 165/65/ R 13 (costing well over 300).

- interior in good condition (apart from useual drivers bolster).

- CL wing mirrors.

- new drums

- new wheel bearings

- new Mintex shoes

- Genuine MK3 fog lights

- Halfords extreme brilliance head light bulbs and fog light bulbs.

- under sealed and all welding needed done at last MOT.

- Late spec rear lights

- new radiator

- new thermostat

- reconditioned bumpers and trim

- new timing belt

- water pump

- new auxiliary belt

Bad points

- dint above fuel cap Can't picture doesn't show properly but not terrible.

- a few pint chips on rear quarter not terrible either.

- knocks on full lock to the right I believe its the lock nut on the track rod.

- no anti rattle shims on front pads so clatter in reverse easy fix I have the shims.

- Squeeky rear axle bush i put the cd player on :-D. however easy fix and went threw last MOT with it.

- small dint in passengers wing again it doesn't really show on pics but is hardly noticeable.

- last owner got abit lively with a buffer and stripped a bit of paint on the bonnet.

All new parts fitted in September around 6,000 miles ago

This car pulls very well for a 1.3 it makes mince meat out of the usual rude-boy in his Corsa. Not 100% on the output as I've not had it tested but id say between 95-100bhp. it keeps up with a Audi A3 1.8t and a MK2 Golf GTI 8v cant catch it.

I have tried to be as honest as possible with this. Looking for a MK3 Coupe in white GT if possible. If not a diesel thats cheap on insurance. But again just try me you never know.

Pictures will try and get some better ones

Thanks Rob

I like 6n's but can't really justify having one. Unless it was diesel as the insurance seems to be very high for me. So unfortunately I'll have to say no chap although it is a really nice motor and air con would be awesome GLWS/swap.

Thanks Rob

No probs mate cheers
