i looked into getting a loan to pay it off in one and found that if i borrow £1400, i pay about £1530 back. sounds great to me!

was just wondering has anyone had any experiance of this? and if i have been overdrawn before on my debit card, would my bank refuse it??

i am 100% able to pay it back, just wondering if theres any reason for them to refuse me.

You bank will credit score you in its own special way. Going overdrawn may or may not matter. What I will point out is that you won't get a loan over longer than 12 months to buy your insurance because you may be needing to do the same again next year.

yeah I'm with lloyds and they came up on moneysupermarket.com, that was for a 12 month loan, something like £128 pound a month?

yeah i looked into credit cards but i heard they may nnot give you a descent overdraft thingy straight away? as in i may not be able to take 1400 straight out, it might be limited.

i did this got a loan to pay my insurance as it worked out i paid the bank back less than paying the insurance monthly it was some thing like £1390 for my insurance in a oner so i got a loan of £1500 and paid back £1620 gave me abit extra money to spend on the car too. But if i was to pay my insurance monthly it ended up coming out at about £1800 quid in total i paid them so i would have been stupid not to do it the loan way this was last year and now my insurance is £600 just renewed for so i paid that in a oner and without a loan

Eric, seriously, get a credit card mate! The worst you can do is apply! How old are you? I got a 2k credit limit on my first card when I was 18. We've been through this! :)

yeah but on the creditcard i got with a £1600 limit the first amount i could spend was £300 til i had used and had it like a month and paid that first £300 off then it unlocked the full amount

I've never come across that and I've had credit cards with 4 different providers and I've worked at a high street bank for 5 years.. who was yours with?

yeah was just getting a few more opinions mate, ill probably ask lloyds for the loan first, and if they refuse it ill try getting a credit card.
